Chelela pass is one of top highest and most travelled peak in Bhutan. laying 13000 feet above sea level, It is the most precious and stupendous place one can experience.
The road to chelela is extremely treacherous , very narrow and steep with lots of twists and turns. The roads on the hills were built in 1990 by the king of bhutan Jigme Singye Wangchuck
Filled with snow even during summers, this place is pure beauty for snow lovers. I was astounded by the hills covered with such extensive amount of snow, people were enjoying themselves by clicking pictures and playing with snow balls.
There was shortness of breath on top of the hill because of the elevation and lack of oxygen. It wasn't very cold because the sun was out but the snow remained untouched and unmelted. They say in chelela, it always snows in the night and there are very few, who has seen the snowing at night, it's a boon for those, who saw it.
I enjoyed myself thoroughly and captured good memories of the place. I didn't know Bhutan had so much to offer to me, I felt blessed and then sailed away to my next destination.
