Umngot river is one of the cleanest rivers throughout India. It is no less than a paradise. The water is clear that you can see what lies under the Umngot river. We were really stunned to see such an amazing river. It is about 95 km from Shillong (capital of Meghalaya).
Last year, I saw images on social media and decided to pay my visit to this river. In the month of Nov, we planned a trip to beautiful Meghalaya (abode of clouds). It was a five day trip and trust me I never felt like coming back. On the fourth day, we went to the Dawki river.
If you are planning your trip to Meghalaya do not forget to visit this place. Also, make sure not to visit during monsoon as rain and sand mix in the river and it does not look the same.
Divided by countries but united by Umngot river. Yes, you heard me right. This particular river flows near the Indo-Bangladesh border which divides the India and Bangladesh border.
