MOUNT ABU... A 2 days itinerary - HIKING BOOTS

Arawali is the oldest mountain series of INDIA and Guru Shikhar is the highest peak of Arawali. To visit Gurushikar, Mount abu is the only way. Mount abu is only hill station of Rajasthan. Its fame is not only limited to Gujarat and Rajasthan but is also famous all over India. We visited Mount Abu for 2 days during our road trip from Ahmedabad to Udaipur in monsoon season. Below is 2 days complete guide for mount abu:

Nakki Lake : This place is the heart of town and best place to spend evening time .Boat ride and water zorbing activities are available in lake. Organizer provide 30min time for Riding in 400Rs.

2. Guru Shikar:

Guru shikhar is the highest peak of arawali having height of 5650ft(1722 meter)

3. Dilwada Jain temple:

Constructed in 1031 this temple is magnificent example of excellence of Indian Architecture. The stone carving on pillars and walls of temple includes minute details of stories and historical events.

4. Shri Guru Dattatreya temple:

Located on Guru Shikhar this temple is the place where Shri Dattatreya performed penance for 20 years. The place include the samadhi and charan of shri dattatreya.

5. ISRO observatory:

The observatory is visible from Guru Shikhar on a clear day. If you choose trekking through forest the route passes through observatory.

6. Achalgarh Fort:

Achalgarh fort is one of the forts built by Rana Kumbha. The site include remains of fort, Temple dedicated to Mirabai (where Mirabai stayed stayed) and Kali Temple built by Raja Gopichand of Bengal.

7. Achaleshwar Mahadev Temple:

Achaleshwar Mahadev Temple is a unique temple as it is only Shiv Temple where his "Toe" is worshiped. It is believed that lord Shiv balances Mount Abu on his right toe and thus it names "Achaleshwar Mahadev"

8. Toad Rock:

Toad rock is icon of Mount Abu. It can be seen from Nakki lake. Sunset is the perfect time to visit the place.

9. Bramhakumari peace park:

Brahmakumari peace park is 8 KM from Mount Abu, on the way to Guru Shikhar. This place is the destination if you are looking for some peaceful and spritual moment away from hectic urban life.

10. Suicide Point:

Suicide point is located on the way to Guru Shikhar. This is named so because suicide scene of movie "Quamat se quamat tak" was shot here. The stunning look of Aravalis is main attraction of this point.

11.Street Market:

Colourfull Street markets of Mount Abu are perfect place to spend evening and night in Mount Abu. You can find here local crafts, textile especially crosia work. There are lot of eateries offering different cuisines. Colourfull softies are must try here.
