How to go: (Delhi - Muradabad-Ramnagar)

#BestOfTravel There maybe a long list of places for a #WeekendGetaway from Delhi, but one of my favorite pick is #JimCorbett. It takes around 6 hours drive from Delhi which makes it a perfect candidate to go #OffTheGrid, away from the concrete jungle made of crowded streets and filled with honking vehicles polluting the Delhi's environment.

Here are few moments in the video :

We started around 9AM from Delhi and follow the Google Maps till our destination, the traffic around the Muradabad and the under construction roads made our journey felt like travelling through the light years. We had a stop for breakfast at Shiva Dhaba, well we couldn't ignore the hundreds of poster spamming the roads like unwanted advertisement popup on the web these days :) It's around 3 hours away from the Delhi ,therefore i would suggest to leave early morning to beat the Delhi traffic and have a stopover at this place for a perfect timed breakfast. I would suggest to try the usual Tandoori paratha stuffed with the aloo-payaz mixture. (Potato and Onion).

Where to Stay: (The Gateway Resort)

After exactly 6 hours, we were so relieved to reach the destination. We choose the "The Gateway resorts" for our 2 nights stay, being associated with the Taj family we were assured for a relaxing and luxurious stay.

The first impression started with a easy and quick check in process with the smiling faces welcoming you along with the traditional music, which was similar to Begpiper and Tabla. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and hygienic along, with the amenities Swimming Pool/Spa and GYM made sure we felt like home.

The location of the resort was so heavenly with a view of the Kosi river and a rocky mountain with the serenity helps you to find the inner peace.

This is my best way to enjoy the nature, to leave a clean footprints to cherish those memories for lifetime until you revisit them

What to eat :

One of the highlights from the stay was the variety and taste of all the cuisines, which made my taste bud to have a non stop party for the 3 days :D

From the "Non-veg Traditional Thalli" from treetop restaurant and to the Sizzlers dishes coming out of Tusker grilled restaurant, all were a piece of Food art.

The sizzler dishes and the cocktails along with the Live Sufi-Music performance were a perfect blend of food harmony.

What to do:

Many people visit the Jim Corbett national park mainly for the Jungle Safari, but this time i discovered there are so much more to it. Thanks to the outdoor team, we had a lot of activities planned in our itinerary which included Jungle Safari, Camping near the river bed and visit to a tiny village ('Khunkhet') which was one of my favorite.

The Jungle Safari was planned early morning around 6 AM, I was delighted to kick off the day with a sip of hot Masala tea and crispy cookies. It was quite chilly in the morning so I remember myself to carry the Jacket and Cap. It took around 45 minutes from the resort to the main gate of the National Park, we were enjoying the loving view around the roads while our guide was arranging the entry pass and other formalities.

We were thrilled to see a Tusker within a few meters of our jeep at the beginning of the Safari.

We encountered few more animals like Antelopes, Langurs, Sambhar, Peacock, Jackals etc., but we ran out of the luck to encounter the mysterious tigers of the Jim Corbett. We could hear the loud breathing sound coming out of the bushes within a close range but all thanks to the thick jungle the tiger could rest peacefully without being spotted.

The Safari experience took around 4-5 hours and we were back to the resort around 10AM where a plethora of delicious food await us ;)

After gaining the few pounds during the first meal of the day, we had a quick nap before we come back again for the second round during lunch hours. We booked Spa appointment after the lunch so we were easy on the food this time. The Jiva Spa experience energized the whole body and made us feel refreshed in terms of physically and mentally. I would strongly recommend the advance booking of Spa as you may need a pampering time for yourself to complete the best vacation of the year.

The end of the evening comes with a surprise camping near the river bed under the umbrella of stars was impeccable. I couldn't ask for anything more than this magical setup along with the finger licking snacks and few drinks, with a entertaining company to share our experiences and adventure with the other people.

We couldn't get over the excitement when the next day morning we visited to a remote village which was blessed with the greenery and a breathtaking view of the Kosi river. This was like a film-set coming out from the Swiss Alps. It gave us the perfect opportunity to train our camera lenses with the best shots of the human life living side by side to the mother nature.
