I am not much with words but lets try. SO this was somewhere last year when the lockdown had opened up and I was still in my hometown of Indore. I came home in March 2020 and then Covid happened. Anyways, one fine Sunday me and my dad just sat in our car and left. we left with no particular destination in mind. Indore is famous for food , cleanliness, culture and more food ! Not so much for nature. But it is a lesser know fact that there are at least 60 unexplored gems of nature in and around Indore. And we went to one such gem that day, Patalpani Water fall and Valley.

As scary as the name sounds, the location is ten times serene in real life. It is a famous valley tucked away some 50 kms from Indore. And once you reach there , the whole place consumes you. The grandeur of the waterfall, the green forest cover running all over the place, the old rustic rail road tunnel that runs through the valley and the mountains that stretch beyond sight. The main route to the fall was still not open due to Covid, but the explorer in me was not settling for that. We spoke to some locals , after some requesting and negotiations, we convinced one of the local to take us from the beaten path and it was all worth it. We started walking through the forest and soon we left all the city chaos behind. With each step, the car horns were being replaced by sounds of the birds, the rustle of leaves of the leaves was sounding as music and the as we moved forward, the greens in the trees were getting darker. This was a sign we were getting closer to the source. We passed a lot of trees. many birds , some insects and fewer animals were watching us walking in their space. but they were kind enough to let us tread their ground. just then a peacock flew across me and I just stood there. It felt all of this was planned by someone, it was all happening in sync. As we moved forward we crossed some trees which were fallen on the ground. But that is the beauty of life, when one ends, it starts supporting other life forms. We saw some insects, some parasites growing on those fallen trees. Just when I was walking with this thought, I heard the gushing of water. It grew louder and louder. This meant we were getting closer to our spot. But our guide took a turn and the sound was getting lower as we moved behind our guide. I was a bit confused. But when we reached the place where he took us, I was completely mesmerized. He took us to a place from where I could see the whole valley. the view was clear. The mountains stretched to the point beyond the vision ended. The cover so green that it felt like a carpet of grass was spread across the valley. It was serene. While I embraced the beauty, our guide Manoj , started walking again. We followed. Then he took us to a place which gave us a unique perspective of the fall. A perspective different from the main touristy spots. A fresh perspective. As soon as I saw the fall, I could hear the gushing water again. The water was rolling down the rocks. Shining as the sunlight hit the flowing water. The trees around the fall danced as if they were happy. It all seemed like a musical performance. I just sat there and watched the magic unfold.

Day 1

Another good example that taken the off beat path is always a good idea !
