How long you drive for a cup of TEA ? A mile or to a mall or to a CCD but We salem guys drive up to a hill for a single chai. This way all this wonderful journey happened. Its Sunday early morning 5.30AM and we started our drive just to have a cup of #chai in yercaud and there is no other further plan.

I felt that early morning drive is connecting my soul with nature, my body can feel the cold hug of the mountain, those breeze chill air flows upon us gives an excitement to drive more. We are thrilled to drive alone into the dark ghat round and there are only few bikes passing by.

"I can clearly hear the birds singing all the way we go and also my lungs can feel the pure oxygen from the trees around us. The path is decorated with flowers/leaves fallen from the tress, one side of the way is with magnified hill rocks and other side is filled with the lights from city view".

There is water overflow on the ghat roads due to continuous rain . The roads are well constructed to take care of those overflow water from hill top and it carries those to bottom of salem city. There is many small water streams and falls on ghat road to spent our time and to took many snaps for our Facebook and Instagram .

We drove very slow as much as we can and felt the happiness of journey. Around 6.40AM we reached the Yercaud and found our regular Tea shop.

Tea pic from our last yercaud pic, this time forgot to click a pic.

After this we are discussing about our next plan and I came up with a thought to just drive on some roads which we won't drive usually. This idea is just to avoid crowd and want to connect more with nature.

Then we planned our ride to Gundur, a village in Yercaud.

On the way to Gundur Village

Last time when we ride in this route we have seen a Bison crossing on this roads, so always stay alert. But this time we have encountered a snake passing by while doing trekking.

We reached Gundur and had a chat with local people to know about any places or view point here and then we get to know about this elephant tooth stone and it can be only reachable by trekking about 5KM (2-way) into the forest. We tried to search for the route in google but there is no network. Then we asked few more locals and got the route.

After a long walk into the wild, we realized that the path is wrong but it taken us to a small water stream / falls & Prickly pear fruits plants near to that. So we use this place for a short break and rested near the water stream. One of our buddy went to pickup some fruits to have. The water was clear and we used it for drinking. From here far away from us we have seen the glimpse of elephant stone rocks.

Finally, after a long trek into the forest we reached the ELEPHANT TOOTH ROCK. This huge rocks are believed to be the leftovers of a meteorite which would have fallen to the earth centuries before. Unlike the black granite seen in these hillside, the rocks are purely in white color and looks so appealing to our eyes. Thus, these beautiful white elephant tooth rocks appear as the crowning glory of the panoramic scenic environments. But the villagers told a different story to us, these rocks are formed by a curse of a GOD on two of the white elephants which has not responded to the god on his calls.

The best view comes after the hardest climb..

Almost two hour we spent here and now started back our trekking to reach back to the village (parked our bike there). While returning back to yercaud lake from here, we found few attractive places for photography and clicked few pics.

Now we are in Yercaud and we cant leave from here without tasting the spicy chiili baji, onion baji & finally the #Chai. The special thing about this road side shops is they will server the Baji with a special spicy side disk(kind of chilli gun powder). It was crowed now everywhere and we started to search a peaceful place to add fuel for our stomach and got a one near the lake side.
