Is it really true that one dip in the plain blue waters at Papanasam beach washes away all your sins ?? I am not sure about that part, but a visit to this beach is perfectly mindblowing.
this view greets you,
shree janardhana swami temple built 2000 years ago is located along the left side as you walk towards the beach.
on the right,
is Varkala kulam(pond) wherein one can have a swim, have an interactive session with the fishes, and feel the water that flows from the holy abode. (note: renovation of the pond is underway, so no swimming for the time being).
keep walking, and walking until..you begin to feel the cool breeze against you and you stand witness to the mighty beach.
Varkala cliff is very famous, there are toursists and locals who visit the beach because of her amazing warmth.
There are fishing activities too , and you can even buy directly from fishermen, sounds interesting?
One can keep walking towards right, towards north, and indulge with the sea, there are options to walk along the beach wherein the waves intermittently graze your feet, jump along with the waves, bathe and swim, make mud castles, laze around with a story book in hand, sun bathing, or even try surfing.
write your heart out,
there is something one must never forget to check out, the water that comes from the hills is very pure form of water, people do drink it, Event though I saw them drinking it ,I didn't give it a go, but yeah , the water was pretty cold, people also have a bath in this cool water once they are drained off their energy after having a bout with the sea.
I then reached the maximum point up to which one can go walking by the sea.
climb up the cliff via steps, it's a pretty easy climb,
view from the cliff is awesome,
there are many shops along the walkway wherein one can buy amazing items, be sure of the amount you pay for the item you buy, if you like it for the price ..VIOLA..
there are many resorts facing the sea,
wait, no fun staying dry, there are plenty of places to quench your thirst along the walkway,
the experience was pretty amazing, the breeze, the shining water, I could kinda see the entire see glazing up in the sun's brightness, the entire ambiance was boosted up by soothing music in the backdrop.
And don't forget to collect the freebies,
I picked them up from sea shore and those are pretty gifts from nature which nobody bothers to find.
Best time to visit, December to February..
Go there and be there..you can also hire a motorbike and roam around Varkala, Happy exploring.
Varkala is about 45kms and 190 kms from Trivandrum, and kochi airport respectively.
Majority of the trains do stop at the Varkala Sivagiri railway station, there are all means available at the railway station to reach our alluring destination.
one can reach Varkala beach by taking a ride in bus, auto, taxi or even a walk ..yes ..walk
