"Here is my list of 20 things I love about Macao:
1. History : On my research about getting to know more about Macao I came across it's past and it's direct influence on it's current mixed culture. It fasinated me and grew my interest more about this place hence I want to dig deeper by visiting if I am given the chance.
2. Tourism Industry : Macao is famous and very well known for its gambling industry but unlike any other industry gambling involves extra risk, it is because they took that extra risk that now they have become known worldwide as the ""Gambling capital of the world"". I want to study and witness it's other side of the western infused gambling culture.
3. The Historic Centre of Macau : It's on the list of UNESCO World Heritage List, experiencing the architectural legacies of the city's mixed cultural heritage will surely leave me mesmerized!
4. A-Ma Temple : The temple is devoted towards worshipping Matsu, the goddess of seafarers and fishermen. It is also said that the name Macau is thought to be derived from the name of the temple. I would love to visit the core place where Macao became Macau.
5. Macau Musicals : Being a music lover I would absolutely love to listen to real life Macanese music, which is the combination of Chinese and Portuguese music, at Macau Musicals.
6. The House of Dancing Water: I would love to see the blend of water and performances together, must create something really beautiful.
7. The Grand Canal Shoppes : Why not enjoy Venice at Macao while I can shop.
8. The Ruins of St. Paul and Mount Fortress : I want to explore the ruins of St. Paul. The semi-aerial view of the busy square from atop of the stairs, in front of the ruins, sounds like a wonderful sight.
Also I want to climb to the top of Mount Fortress.
9. Casa Do Mandarim/Mandarin’s House : Because of my interest in Macao's history this place is perfect for me to visit and appreciate the cultural heritage and discovering it's historical roots.
10. Seac Pai Van Park : I love that it's an ecological park and educates tourists about nature conservation plus it houses two giant pandas that I am absolutely excited to see.
11. Macau Tower Convention and Entertainment Center : Standing 338 m tall, the Macau Tower must give a spectacular view of the entire city. Being someone who loves height it will be thrilling to pay a visit and check out their adrenaline kicker activities.
12. Hac Sa Beach : Yellow sand beaches are all I have seen and as the name 'Hac Sa' means black sand in Cantonese I would love to visit Hac Sa Beach. Also the thought of seeing a beach of my favorite colour (Black) makes me more eager to visit Macau.
13. Stunningly Photography Perfect : Macao is filled with beauty and elegance through out with its historic structures, streets, residential buildings, urban parks and other places, it is dazzling not only in day but also in night. In other words it's a picture perfect place. Being a click-a-holic I would love to frame Macao in my pictures and vlogs.
14. Taipa Village : Here Macau’s East-meets-West character is on full display with it's Chinese temples to colonial churches, to some of the best Portuguese and Macanese restaurants in town, as well as museums, art galleries, and great souvenir shops. Taipa Village Art Space and Pak Tai Temple are my two toppers to visit first. Being a street-food lover, to hunt for the most authentic and delicious street food at Taipa Village will be delicious.
15. The Macau Lotus Flower Festival : is held every year in June to pay homage to the flower (lotus) featured on Macao's flag. The week-long event sees major areas and sightseeing spots in the country bloom with thousands of lotuses, with the main venue at Carmel Garden. Since lotus is the national flower of India, the flower's beauty is undoubtful and I can imagine how lovely Macao looks during this festival.
16. AJ Hackett Tower : Home to the World's Highest Bungy - 233m, AJ Hackett Tower is a must for me because I always wanted to try bungy jumping so why not start with the highest tower.
17. Rua do Cunha : To walk around the streets surrounded with snack stalls, specialist food stores, traditional bakeries and more food courts will be 100% bon appétit.
18. Live Music Association : Away from the crowd I would love to check the real music scene in Macao whether its folk music or moshing to post-punk to even catching an experimental film screening. I want to enjoy the best and brightest alternative acts from Macau and beyond.
19. Venetian Macao Casino : Simply want to visit this place for its four differently themed gaming sections. Also it the biggest building in Asia and currently the biggest casino in the world.
20. Macanese Cuisine : I consider myself to be a foodie and I love trying different cuisine. Macanese cuisine is unique as it is a blend of both Chinese and Portuguese cuisines with influences of Southeast Asia and Lusophone world. Exploring and eating are my favorite things and Macao with its beautiful presence offers delicious dishes, a great combination which I don't want to miss.
