Meghalaya travel after Covid: Hello guys, this time we are out to explore the beautiful north east.

After almost 10 months, Meghalaya is finally open for tourists and we were lucky to experience Meghalaya with our friends.

We started our journey from New Jalpaigudi and took an overnight train to Guwahati. From Guwahati took a cab to Shillong which is capital of Meghalaya & is about 90 KM from Guwahati. We also visited Cherapunji which is around 60 km from Shillong… In this video we will share how we entered Meghalaya after lockdown, Covid test and other requirement.

Strict Covid protocols were followed at Guwahati railway station. To enter Guwahati covid negative certificate is mandatory at the station . As we were heading to Shilong and not staying in Guwahati the test was not required for us and we were allowed to continue our onward journey.

Since we reached early, we waited for our Friend Sujata who was joining us in Guwahati from Bangalore. We booked a personal Cab from Guwahati to Shillong and it costed us 3000 Rs.

You can also get Private bus which will cost 300 per person or Shared cab which will cost 300 Rs per person from Khanapada area in Guwahati but enquire beforehand.

To enter Meghalaya, a Negative Covid test is required to be presented at the check post. For those who do not have the covid negative certificate, test will be done at the Ri Bhoi checkpost. We reached Ri Bhoi Check post in 1 hour and went straight for Covid test.

Our Friend did her Covid test from Bangalore 72 hours before so she didn’t had to repeat the test.

Our advice to all the people travelling to Meghalaya is to do the test before hand if you want to save some time.

Meghalaya the Abode of clouds is now ready to welcome all the travelers and tourists after a long gap.
