Plan short trips around the place you are staying. Try more overnight trains/buses to save on accommodation cost. Book trains/flights in advance and keep eye out for any sale or offer on flights and hotels. Prefer fresh local food.

No doubt rishikesh is best place to do adventures water sports but in monsoon season the rafting is ban or you can say not permitted. But that doesn't mean that you shouldn't visit rishikesh I think you will feel more happy by just sit at triveni ghat(that clear and clean, that peace, just awake your soul). Soo Enjoy.

There are a couple of budget hotels in the Abu road station area. Distance from the hotels to Mount abu is around 20kms. Better stay there. Roam around the city area. Enjoy steet food. Ride through the hilly roads and you'll love the view while driving to mount Abu or Guru shikhar. Get some beautiful snaps on the way.
I have recently stayed at Shivalik hotel, Mount Abu road area. By the way there are some costly hotels up the hill side too..

Hi Shaileyee, Singalila National Park in India is one of the most exotic Himalayan forest in eastern indo-nepal region. Singalila NP is a national park of India located on the Singalila Ridge at an altitude of 7000 feet to 12000 feet above sea level, in the Darjeeling district of West Bengal. Your flight tickets and bullet rides/cabs take up most of your cost, so plan accordingly and in advance. Choose to stay at homestays instead of hotels, as homestays are way cheaper.
