Hi Sheeba, This is one of the most popular monsoon treks. And while the trek is feasible, the weather can be unpredictable.

I would suggest that you stay updated with the local news over there, as it is raining heavily in the area. A recentl landslid was there in Mussoorie and other area. As, of now, I would nor suggest anybody to visit Rishikesh or any Uttarakhand area. It's highly risky.

I can't give you a detailed itinerary, but I can suggest some places that you must definitely not miss visiting, 1. Belur and Halebid 2. Hampi - Stay at Gopi Guest House 3. Charmadi Ghat - This can be a one day return drive 4. Udupi - Stay at the Welcome Hotel in Manipal 5. Pondicherry - Airbnb's, but make sure you stay in the French Colony, also visit Auroville when here 6. Alleppey - Houseboats, most definitely 7. Coonoor - Neemrana Hotel in Coonoor has to be the best bet 8. Kanyakumari 9. Rameshwaram 10. Trivandrum - Taj Kovalam, beautiful and elegant, stay here for a day at least. For places to stay, you can look up Airbnb, they're the cheapest of the lot and the most convenient, that's what I've realised.

Hi Jayanthi, Bhutan is definitely a great place for a solo female traveller. Here are some articles you can read for inspiration - https://www.tripoto.com/trip/why-bhutan-should-be-your-first-overseas-destination-5914068426780 https://www.tripoto.com/trip/a-fieldguide-to-the-secrets-of-bhutan-and-its-happiness-568ab2642c935 https://www.tripoto.com/trip/three-girls-and-the-good-men-of-bhutan-56811bff1f2dc As for preparation, the best way to go about it is your budget and the time you plan to visit Bhutan. The ideal months are September and October when it's not too cold and the rains are over. Whether you should bagpack or not, again depends on your budget. As for accommodation, there are numerous homestays, hotels and boutique resorts spread all across Bhutan that you can chose from! Hope you have a wonderful trip and write all about it on Tripoto once you are back!

Hi Kalpesh, we got caught in Jodhpur floods last Aug. Just one hour of thunderstorm brought the city to a halt. Roads were like rivers and trains were cancelled. It might mean getting stuck at a location till it clears (for us, just 1 day). Jaipur was bright and sunny just before this :) So if you do travel then prepare for these situations.

It doesn't rain too much in August, so I think it's safe to go on those dates. Just to be careful, why dont you keep a tab on the weather conditions in Manali on 9th and 10th.
upvoteUpvotemessageComment
Please do not worry about the drive, Roads are wide and good.Rain would not be problem for you , I am sure you would love the drive from Kulu to Manali.

Hi Vishal! There are Fast boats connecting Bali with Gili Trawangan taking upto 1-3 hrs. They have several departure points in Bali, including Benoa Harbour, Sanur, Padangbai and Amed. Some go via Nusa Lembongan. Many dock at Teluk Nare/Teluk Kade on Lombok north of Senggigi before continuing on to Air and Trawangan (youll have to transfer for Meno).

Hi Vishal, I am not sure if you have made your trip as the question did not pose when you asked - nevertheless, kindly check for travel advisories at the moment at Gili! there has been earthquakes and most places are shut down.
