upvoteUpvotemessageComment
Hey Mukul, yes rented bikes are allowed to Rohtang Pass, if you are on a rented or self-owned motorcycle, you will need to obtain the permits from Manali. Now a days, there are two kinds of permits being issued. One is a permit for travelling till Rohtang Pass and the second one is for people planning to travel beyond Rohtang pass towards Ladakh or Spiti. These permits are issued at SDM office at Manali which is open from 10 am to 5 pm except Sunday and second Saturday of the month. On these days, the office is open only until noon. No permits are issued on Tuesday, the office remains closed. All vehicles will be required to pay a sum of Rs. 500 as permit fee and Rs. 50 congestion charge, so a total of Rs. 550 per permit.

Dashaur Lake is a beautiful high-altitude lake, located almost six kilometres westwards from Rohtang Top. Depending on which route you take, a trek to the lake is not very difficult. Here are more details about it: https://www.tripoto.com/trip/kullu-s-magical-blue-dashaur-lake-56752f7167864
