Although monsoon is the time when there are most tiger sightings, but the park remains close to tourists during monsoon months. December to February is the best time for tourists to enjoy Royal Bengal Tiger sighting in Ranthambore National Park as the weather is also pleasant and you can spot complete tiger families with cubs.

Yes, May is a good time to visit Rishikesh. It is the ideal time for adventure activities as well. You can visit the seven beautiful waterfalls near Sohra. One of which is the 4th highest in the world.
The double decker root bridge is not to be missed.
Also do visit the Mawsmai Caves.
Good cottage to stay is Sai-Mika
Good Hotel to stay is Jiva

Try to keep two days in hand for double dekker because its quite a rough trek with very stiff stairs made of stones.

Destination Points of Himacal Pradesh, Uttarakhand or North East state will be better option if you are planning in the month of May - September.

First of all Reach Dehradun by train or by bus from your origin point.
If you are there by train then go to Dehradun ISBT, There you'll get bus to Kedarnath
If you are by bus to Dehradun then it'll be more convenient for you because from the same point you'll get bus to Kedarnath.
Make sure you had medicine before the mentioned time on it for not vomitting on the way.

Located around 250 km from Kedarnath, Jolly Grant Airport is connected to the major cities of India including New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai. By road: Kedarnath is well connected to New Delhi and Dehradun by bus network. If you land in New Delhi, the best way is to take a bus to reach Dehradun which is about 260 km from the Indian capital.There are plenty of options to choose from A/C sleeper, non A/C sleeper, Volvo A/C, Volvo A/C and semi-sleeper buses. You can also take a bus from Haridwar to reach Kedarnath. The distance between Haridwar and Kedarnath is around 125 km and buses take about 5 hours to cover the distance. Gaurikund is the nearest motorable area from Kedarnath. By train: There is no railway station at Kedarnath. Rishikesh Railway Station is the nearest railway head from Kedarnath. Located about 210 km from Gaurikund, Rishikesh Railway Station is well connected to almost all the major cities of India and has a regular trains on a daily basis. From Rishikesh, one can take a bus to Gaurikund.
