Hi Jagriti,
You might know that Cherrapunji receives the highest rainfall in India. So, please avoid that season. you can visit till mid of June though.
If we think logically you cannot! It is very very and very tough for you to complete the trek solely. Remember Chadar Trek is not a joke. It is in one of the most difficult trek in India. You never know the about the weather. if you are going solely you might get logistics issue. Trek leader and respected companies have proper arrangements of any emergency and have certified trek leader and in this trek you definitely need all those.:)
It is not recommended... The Chadar Trek is one of the most difficult treks in India...The trek is 105kms journey covered in 9 days. The weather conditions are harsh and altitude ranges around 11000ft.It requires a great level of experience to understand which parts of ice to walk on.....
Being there is not the problem. Really cheap and amazing food, budget stay options. Great for backpackers. Problem is getting there. Most options from India is very expensive
I appreciate your choice of destination and month of May is blessed in mountains. Here is a full proof plan for you. You can do adjustments to it as per your convenience. First take an overnight bus from chandigarh to dharamshala. there are plenty of buses available from chandigarh to dharamshala. you will reach dharamshala in 6 - 7 hrs. EArly morning you will be in dharamshala. from dharamshala you can go to Mcleodganj. Mcleodganj is 5 kms from dharamshala and very well connected througvh public transport. Must visit Triund Top Trek in Mcleodganj. Next Day, you can leave for Bir Biling it is 62 kms from Dharamshala. You can hop on toy train if you are patient and want to enjoy valley or you can just take taxi from dharamshala to Bir billing. You can opt for public transport there are two buses leave for Bir at 6:00 AM and 2:00 PM everyday. I suggest take morning bus so that you will get enough time to do para gliding the same day. You can take personal taxi it takes 1000-1500 INR. Go to Dalhousie from dharamshala. There is only one delux bus running on this route fare 555 INR starting at 8:15 AM. It rakes 5-6 hrs to reach dalhousie. Next, from dalhousie you can reach khajjar it is only 22 kms route. grab a taxi or find a bus locals will help you find buses easily. Hope it will help you. IF you want more help i can assist you on phone - 8949031132 Thank You
