The Hampta Pass is a grand trek for any season. And the Hampta Pass is open to trekking for more months in the year than our other treks like the Roopkund, Rupin Pass or Goecha La. There is a simple reason for this: Hampta Pass, at 14,500 feet, is at a lower altitude. The special thing about the mid June attempt on the Hampta Pass is the snow. The amount of snow that you will see on Hampta Pass will make you believe that you are in the Arctic. It has also got to do with the terrain. Most treks that we conduct are over very open valleys like the Rupin Pass or the Roopkund. The Hampta Pass, on the other hand, is a crossing that starts out in a narrow valley and stays that way until the very end, when we descend at Chatru. The narrowness of the valley accentuates the gathering of the snow. In mid June, you will find the first patches of snow, even on Day 1, lining the sides of the valley walls. On Day 2, as you climb through the Jwara meadows, snow patches start increasing they are everywhere and almost immediately, you hit the first snow bridges over the Rani Nalla. That day, when you camp at Balu-Ka-Gera, you are on a wide river bed with snow mounds rising all around you. The temperature drops. Quick acclimatization climbs on the snow patches around the camp make for perfect preparation for your next days adventure of the Hampta Pass crossing. The next morning, just as you step out of the Balu-Ka-Gera campsite, the Rani Nalla disappears under you under a vast snow bridge. It reappears briefly as it widens to a flat bed of clear water in fact, your last water source to go under snow and ice never to be seen again. It is strange to think that a good part of your trek to the Hampta pass is actually over a snow glacier on the Rani Nalla. for more detail visit - https://indiahikes.com/why-hampta-pass-is-a-superb-trek-for-mid-june/

Hi Hafiz best season to visit October to March: October is when the monsoon season ends and a slight chill is observed in the weather. Winter season begins in full swing and it is during the months of mid-November to January, when the average temperature ranges between 7 and 5 degree Celsius. Snowfall is rarely seen in Darjeeling.
upvoteUpvotemessageComment
Hi Hafiz, from temperature perspective, Darjeeling is an year-around destination. But, it is best to avoid it during the monsoon months from July to September since it rains a lot. Summers, from April to June (18 to 25 Celsius) is the best time to visit Darjeeling.

Hi Ashutosh, the best time to do the Kinnaur-Spiti circuit is from April to June. Kinnaur sees fair amount of rainfall from July to September which could lead to landslides, road blockage and severe delays. However, you can still opt for Manali-Spiti circuit during these months since it sees little rainfall when compared to Kinnaur.

Hi Priyanka Regardless of how financially sound you are, traveling cheap can be a rewarding experience. Travel during the off-season to get some great deals on accommodation. Live at shacks, homestays or hostels and eat at local (but 8clean) food joints. All you need is a curious mind, a willing heart and about Rs 5000 to explore these amazing destinations in India. 1. Lansdowne: One of the lesser known hill stations of Uttarakhand, Lansdowne offers abundant natural beauty and spectacular views and is surprisingly easy on the pocket. Where to stay: Hotel Galaxy (Rs 1000 per night) : 094121 10553 GMVN Lansdowne tourist bungalow (Rs 900 per night) : +91-135-2740896 What to do/Places to visit: a. Visit the War Memorial and the Tip-in-top point b. Check out the Bhulla Tal lake. c. Take a long walk exploring the hill station. d. Visit the Kalagarh wildlife sanctuary Where to eat: Tipsy restaurant, Mayur, Fairydale restaurant, local stalls 2. Parvati valley: Cheap train and bus tickets will get you to Kasol which is surrounded by rolling hills and valleys and cheap accommodation options. Nearby villages like Tosh host some of the hottest parties in the valleys. A trek to Kheerganga to take a dip in the hot water springs costs absolutely nothing. Accommodation at the top begins at Rs 150 per night and food is cheap too. The entire 3-4 day trip can be wrapped up under Rs 5000. Where to stay: Alpine guest house, Kasol (Starts at Rs 600): 91 - 01902 - 273710 The Mountain goat, Tosh (Starts at Rs 500): +91-8527202757 What to do/places to visit: a. India's favorite beach state is the place to go to no matter what you want to do: laze around by the beach or party the night 8away at a club (the latter may not be possible though, if you are on a budget). Where to stay: Roadhouse Hostel, Anjuna (starts at Rs 500): 0832 652 5552 Altrude Villa, Candolim (Multiple occupance - starts at Rs 1000): 098812 90636 Where to eat: a. Ride down to Old Goa and visit the Basilica de Bom Jesus, Se Cathedral and St Francis of Assisi Church. c. Give the commercialized beaches of Baga and Calangute a pass and instead bask in the Candolim sun or check out the light house at Fort Aguada. d. Hi, must see places in Udaipur are the City Palace, Lake Palace, Vintage Car Museum, Sajjangarh and Bagore Ki Haveli. I highly recommend the Bagore ki Haveli light and sound show and a sunset boat ride in Lake Pichola. You can cover all these places in two days. Then, you have the option of taking a day trip to Kumbhalgarh Fort and Ranakpur Jain Temple. You can head to Mt. Abu on the third day or the fourth if you decide to take the optional day trip. In my opinion Mt. Abu is an overrated destination. I recommend you go to Chittorgarh on the fourth day to see its magnificent fort. And, yes August is a good time to visit Udaipur.

Hi Manali, eight days might be too few to cover both the countries. I recommend you spend the time in one country. Still, if you want to cover both then fly into Phnom Penh Airport (Cambodia) and visit Angkor Wat, Siem Reap, Phnom Penh in three days. On the fourth day take a flight to Hanoi, Vietnam. Spend a couple of days exploring Hanoi before heading to Halong Bay. Explore the surreal beauty of Halong Bay for a couple of days and then head back to Hanoi to catch your return flight. For more information regarding both, check Tripoto's Travel Guide pages: https://www.tripoto.com/travel-guide/vietnam and https://www.tripoto.com/travel-guide/cambodia.

Hi Vishal, I am quoting Philippines Embassy in India website: Indian nationals who wish to visit the Philippines for tourism purposes may be granted visa-free entry into the country in any port of entry (major international airports and secondary international hubs (SIHs), as well as in seaports by passengers on board cruise ships/vessels) for an initial authorized stay not exceeding fourteen (14) days, provided they possess the following: 1.) Either a valid (used or unused) American (US), Japanese, Australian, Canadian, Schengen, United Kingdom, or Singaporean multiple-entry visa or permanent residence permit. 2.) An Indian passport valid at least six (6) months beyond the date of departure from the Philippines; 3.) Return or onward ticket to the next country of destination; and 4.) No derogatory record with the Philippine Bureau of Immigration. The fourteen (14) day, visa-free entry may be extended by an additional seven (7) days with the Philippine Bureau of Immigration for a maximum stay of twenty-one (21) days but is non-convertible to other visa categories. Make sure your visa is valid and you hold return or onwards flight tickets.
