I think if you stay in Mahabalipuram one night then you can better explore it, but you can always leave early morning Pondicherry and come back at night. Its only 1.5 hours journey one side from Pondicherry to Mahabalipuram.
I would advise you to keep a day extra for Mahabalipuram..if u want to explore it completely. However if u are short of time then a day is fine too. Leave early morning and you ll b able to cover the major tourist spots!!
Hey Ragesh, From delhi it's better for you to board a sleeper bus and reach Amritsar by 7 in the morning .... From bus stand you need to get an auto for 75 rupees fare till golden temple ... Get a bath in the temple premises nd then Visit Golden temple. You can finish the langar and Visit to the temple by 11.30 a.m ... after this head to Jallianwallabagh complex right next to golden temple .... A historical site which shouldn't be missed on your visit ... You can spend 2 hrs dre and then you can go to Wagah border ... There are many buses which ply from amritsar bus stand to Attari village and from there you have to hire a cycle rickshaw or a normal auto to reach the entrance point .... The ceremony starts at 5.00 in the evening and is an almost one hour activity and a very overwhelming experience you can have in your life .... You can get back to Amritsar by 9 in the night and stay in Amritsar or you can easily take a return night bus to Delhi .... This is how I visited Amritsar and it's easily doable in a day ... Happy Travelling Bro!!!
Planning everything on your own is way better There are no time constraints You can have full freedom to explore It's less expensive than booking a package And while booking package, they only show popular places, you might on miss on the hidden gems or lesser known beautiful places
Booking a package is atleast 1.5 times expensive than going on your own. however..if there's no dearth of money you can book a package to avoid inconvenience and ensure a smooth trip
Hi Shweta, Rishikesh is an amazing place to visit. However, Rafting and water sports are shut down. Seeing the cold, one would'nt want to get into the water. But, do go for Bungee Jumping in Rishikesh.
Get permission to visit. usually they have transfers from ernakulam in kerala as far as i know. google u will get details. indian passport is enough. no visa required. since stay is less only limited people wil be allowed each date.
Best time to go is December to May, when it is cooler and drier. You require a special permit to visit Lakshadweep. The easiest way to obtain it is to book a package tour through the government's tour operator SPORTS or arrange a hotel to sort it out for you. Kadmat, Kavaratti, Kalpeni, Bangaram, and Agatti are some of the islands you must visit. You can also find a lot of information here: https://www.tripoto.com/travel-guide/lakshadweep/trips
Hey Jayanti, I am studying in Varanasi from last 5 years (BHU). Best location to book hotel is Near Lanka, Assi ghat or Godowlia. And if you are looking for a budget stay, there is a Zostel in Godowlia near PDR cinema (Rs300 for one person,24 hours open, drinks allowed, they play daily one movie for backpackers at night). Search on www.hostelworld.com.
Things to do in Varanasi : 1) Sarnath (Take an auto from BHU main gate or Lanka, Rs 50 per person) 2)Temples like Old Vishwanath temple, Sankat Mochan, Birla Mandir. 3)Evening Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat. After aarti walk from Dashashwamedh to Assi ghat ( it will take 20 minutes. Most of the ghats of Varanasi will be covered.) 4)Wake up at 4:30 AM and go to Assi ghat and see morning aarti and sunrise. After that take a boat ride that will take you across all the ghats (Rs50 in share boat ) 5)You can also go to Devdari or Rajdari waterfalls if you have more days. 6)And for the delicacies try Bhaang Thandai (In godowolia),Non veg at Shah chicken (nayi Sadak in Godowolia), Kerala Cafe (Bhelupur), Paav bhaaji (at Assi ghat), Kullad vali chai (At Kashi cafe at Assi ghat), Lassi from pehelwan lassi (Lanka).
