Semper Opera House
The Semper Opera House, or “Dresdener Semperoper” in German, is one of the most famous landmarks in Dresden. It was built by star architect Gottfried Semper after the first theatre burned down in 1869. He supervised the construction of the new building in exile from Switzerland, as he was banned from returning to Saxony at that time.
