The journey begins from Manali, crossing the gorgeous views of Rohtang Pass.
A pitstop on the way at Rohtang pass to take a Maggi break is always a good idea.
Our car broke down here and we were stranded for hours in this incredible view. Clearly none of us seemed to complaint about it.
and the happy faces once we were back on track, the route from Manali to Chandratal is quite a difficult route, but if you are an adventurous person and can take on whatever the road brings you, then this should be on the bucketlist of road that you must do.
The track from Gramphu to Batal is just a rough dirty route with several water crossings throughout the way. Even if you have opted for Kaza-Chandratal route, you will not see any significant improvement in the road conditions. There are many troublesome spots on the route, with unfavourable road conditions.
since this can get difficult and back breaking, take breaks along the way.
And then you see this incredible mountains & that is when you know you are getting closer to your final destination.
Clearly due to crazy Landslides you will never find this road in a proper condition.
Soaking in the beauty Enroute Chandratal
and of course, stopping at the famous Chacha Chachi Dhaba is a must do when you are on this road for some amazing Rajma Chawal that they serve with so much Love.
and then Finally the place we started the journey for was right in front of us after a long day on the road.
There are many camping options, with almost the same amenities cost is around 500 per person and they also provided us with garam garam Dinner.
The drive to the lake is 10 mins from the campsite and you can opt to walk this stretch via a shortcut. Oxygen levels do get low here and it get's difficult to acclimatise and you could be hit by AMS so please take it slow and push yourself in limit.
Chandratal - Moon lake, this lake is situated at 14100 Feet, it falls in the Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh.
We were surprisingly the only three girls at the lake and we had the most amazing peaceful time sitting around it for a couple of hours until we started freezing.
While the sunset, the lake started changing colors and it was breathtaking after all that we had been through to get here.
