Day 1

If you are planning to explore the jewels of Kashmir in a 6-day trip, this detailed itinerary will guide you through the enchanting destinations of Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, and Sonmarg.

Day 1: Arrival in Srinagar and Journey to Gulmarg

Your journey commences either with an early morning drive from Katra/Jammu to Srinagar or a swift one-hour flight from Jammu to Srinagar. Both options offer their unique charms, with the drive treating you to mesmerizing vistas of the landscape and the flight providing an aerial view of the region's beauty.

Upon reaching Srinagar, take lunch and continue your adventure by driving to the enchanting hill station of Gulmarg. Situated at an elevation of 2,730 meters above sea level, Gulmarg is renowned for its lush green meadows, pristine snow-capped peaks, and the world's highest golf course. Do not forget to prepare yourselves with appropriate dress in advance for Apharwat peak or skii adventurer in Gulmarg. You can rent shoes and jackets from local shops in exchange of only a few bucks.

Spend the night in Gulmarg, soaking in the peaceful ambiance and preparing for the wonders that await you in the coming days.

Day 2

Day 2: Gulmarg - A Day of Alpine Adventure
Start your day with a delightful breakfast in Gulmarg and get ready for an exhilarating experience on the Gondola ride. The Gondola, a cable car system, will take you to Apharwat Peak, where breathtaking views of the majestic Himalayas will leave you in awe. The Gondola operates from 10 am in the morning until 3 pm in the afternoon, so plan your visit accordingly.

After the Gondola ride, immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Gulmarg by exploring its meadows and indulging in activities like skiing or  horse riding. To ensure you have ample time in Srinagar later in the evening, try to conclude your activities in Gulmarg by 2 o'clock.

Return to Srinagar, and if you arrive early in the evening, don't miss the opportunity to enjoy a serene Shikara ride on the iconic Dal Lake. The experience is truly magical as you glide through the tranquil waters, surrounded by floating gardens and charming houseboats.

Retire for the night in Srinagar, with your heart brimming with fond memories of the day's adventures. You can also make this night memorable by staying at houseboat on Dal lake or keep this plan for 5th night.

Day 3

Day 3: Pahalgam - Embrace the Serenity
On Day 3, set out early in the morning for Pahalgam, a serene town known for its lush greenery and the enchanting Lidder River. The drive to Pahalgam is a journey through breathtaking landscapes, making it a delightful experience in itself.

En route, make a stop at the picturesque Saffron fields in Pampore, where you can witness the traditional process of saffron harvesting, which is a significant part of the region's heritage.

Upon arriving in Pahalgam, immerse yourself in the captivating beauty of Betaab Valley and Aru Valley. These valleys are a paradise for nature lovers and offer opportunities for leisurely strolls along the river or exploring the local markets.

Spend the night in Pahalgam, relishing the tranquility that surrounds you.

Day 4

Day 4: Sonmarg - Meadow of Gold
Day 4 takes you to the enchanting of Sonmarg, also known as the "Meadow of Gold." The drive to Sonmarg is a journey through ever-changing vistas of alpine scenery, making it a memorable experience.

Upon arrival, take a pony ride to Thajiwas Glacier, where you can immerse yourself in the wonders of nature and indulge in snow activities (if available based on the season). The glacier offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and is a highlight of your visit to Sonmarg.

Spend the night in Sonmarg, surrounded by the beauty of the Himalayas.

Day 5

Day 5: Srinagar - Embracing the Charm
On Day 5, return to Srinagar, where you will uncover the city's rich heritage and timeless allure. Begin your day with a visit to the iconic Shankaracharya Temple atop Shankaracharya Hill, which offers panoramic views of the city and the breathtaking Dal Lake.

Next, explore the beautiful Mughal Gardens - Nishat Bagh, Shalimar Bagh, and Chashme Shahi. These gardens are a testament to the exquisite Mughal architecture and are adorned with vibrant flowers, fountains, and water channels.

In the afternoon, venture into the bustling markets of the Old City, where you can shop for traditional Kashmiri handicrafts, such as intricately designed carpets, Pashmina shawls, and exquisite woodwork.

If you missed the opportunity on Day 2, end the day with a soothing Shikara ride on the serene Dal Lake, allowing you to witness the surreal sunset over the waters.
