When we talk about oranges, the first name that comes to our mind is Nagpur, but how many of you were aware that there’s another place in the country which produces some amazing oranges? Formerly known as Along, the beautiful town of Aalo in Arunachal Pradesh is all about beautiful orange orchards and nature!

Generously bestowed with natural splendour, this tiny town doesn’t have much of tourist attractions which actually is a blessing, and makes the place a perfect peaceful offbeat destination where travellers can soak in the rich culture and tradition of the destination.

Aalo is a small census town which is also the centre of the West Siang district in Arunachal Pradesh, far away from the madding crowd around 220 km drive away from Likabali. Being a scarcely populated hill town, Aalo is absolutely stunning, and quite peaceful. A perfect picturesque place that every traveller dreams of exploring!

By Air: Air tickets can be booked up to Lilabari in Assam, which is nearly 240 km away.

By Train: The nearest railway station is located around 150 km away in the city of of Silapathar, Assam. Taxis and buses are easily available for Aalo from outside the railway station.

By Road: Aalo is 95 km from Pasighat. But, if you are traveling from Itanagar which is the capital of Arunachal Pradesh, it is 303 km in total. However, there is the State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) available for travelers.

1. Orange orchards:

When two pretty colours, green and orange meet, they create something as magical as the orange fields in Aalo show. You won’t even have to ask the address as all you’ll have to do is follow the sweet smell of the fresh fruit growing in the green fields here. The entire view looks no less than a fresh painting on a canvas, it gets so beautiful here!

2. Patum Bridge:

This 146 m long Patum Cable Bridge is one of the most significant crowd puller attractions in Aalo, which was constructed to carry out smooth transportation in the town. One can enjoy enticing views of the surrounding snow-covered mountains from the bridge along with taking in some breathtaking sunset vistas!

3. Donyi-Polo Temple:

This is a unique temple as it was a result of a religious revivalist movement that began in 1989 by Talom Rukbo. Donyi-Poloism is an ancient religion wherein sun and moon are worshipped.

4. Hanging Bridge:

This one is for hardcore adventurers as crossing Hanging Bridge can be really enthralling experience! The bridge was constructed over the river to help the tribal people living in the region to carry out their day-to-day activities.
