India is the only country that blessed with lot many beautiful and colourful festivals . While some festivals have garnered a pan Indian significance over time, some still remain hidden away from popularity. One such a lesser known festival celebrated In Maharashtra called ' Haldi Festival ' by the Dhanagar community at Pattan-Kodoli a small village based in Maharashtra. Shephered from Maharashtra , Andhra Pradesh & Karnataka came together at Pattan kodoli and celebrate the festival by showering the turmeric powder ( Haldi ). It is the birth anniversary of Vitthal birdev Maharaj who is reincarnation of Lord Vishnu . This festival is celebrated to offer prayers to the community diety of shepherds.
