Ride start time: Before 7 am from Sangli

Total distance:30 km approx.

The Lotus temple ride is usually done on Tuesdays and on Sankashti. This ride is most appropriate for beginners who want to extend their ride beyond 20 km and touch the 30 km mark.

Start from Sangli on the Ankali road. This road is now wide enough to make your cycling comfortable. Many people have a walk on this road early in the morning. You steadily climb the Ankali bridge. The special thing about this bridge is that you can park your cycle and have some nice snaps and also enjoy the Sun,Krishna river view and the nature overall. The squawking of parrots and their view is fantastic to experience. A train passing through the parallel bridge will also give you a pleasant feeling.

Down then from the bridge on immediate left is an off road that leads to 'Shri Ramling temple, Udgaon'.Or else you can continue through Udgaon and take left towards Narasobawadi road. You will pass infront of "Kunjwan", a Jain shrine in Udgaon.A steady elevation of almost 3 km goes parallel to MIDC.Here you can the take pics and view Sunrise in the background of farms.

Returning back, you can visit Shri Datt factory premises which is worth seeing for it's garden. Its just around 2 kms away from the KPT corner.

If time permits and you want to extend your ride by around 10 kms then you can take immediate left from the temple towards Choundeshwari corner on Kolhapur road. From there you can go to Jaysingpur City and back to Udgaon and Ankali. Many rider's also directly go to Jaysingpur City from Udgaon and reach Choundeshwari Chowk and then reach Lotus temple.

You have lot many options for tea and breakfast throughout the route.

After crossing the Ankali bridge, you can also take left towards Haripur and then reach Sangli or else directly reach Sangli. In this way this route is the most flexible route and suitable to practice and enjoy as well...

... keep riding.... keep pedaling
