Bored with city buildings and pollution? Wanna stay aloof in jungle with river and that also in Himalayan range?

Sirikhola or Srikhola is a small hilly area with a falls which forms the river Siri. In nepali language Khola means small river. Location is near to Darjeeling,West Bengal, India; max 4hrs drive from Darjeeling. Sirikhola actually a halt during the Sandakphu-Phalut Trek. So you will get Govt trekker’s hut run by GTA nd 4 others hotel over there. Sirikhola is quite famous for its hanging wooden bridge,though the condition of the bridge is very poor. Govt are planning to build a concrete bridge over here. So plan your trip asap before it destroys the beauty.

Route:

There are 2 routes available, one is via train upto NJP (New Jalpiaguri) or flight upto Bagdogra. From there you may book a car for your own for 4k or may head towards Darjeeling more from where you can get share cab for Rimbick Or Sukhiapokhri costs around 150-200/- per head. If you get cab for Rimbick then you are lucky :P Rimbick to Sirikhola distance is 5-6km for which cab is available for Rs20-30. But if you get cab for sukhia then you have to take another cab for Rimbick/Sepi/Sirikhola

What to visit:

Ohh booyy you are in Singalila National Park…. All around jungle of pine, Rhododendron and obviously the small river named Sirirkhola. If your visiting time is in march or april, you will be welcome with a carpet of Rhododendron flower and of course lots of Orchid. There is a small village uphill named Rammam,which is few km ahead. You can trek upto that. If you are lucky enough, Red Panda or barking Deer may visit you ;) :P
