1. Kumta, Karnataka

10. Majuli, Assam
Majuli is a charming and luxuriant island which is located over the Brahmaputra river just at a distance of 20 km from Jorhat city. Spread across an area of 1250 sq. km, the island is considered to be one of the world’s largest river islands. It is also known as the cradle of the Vaishnavite culture of Hinduism. This river island is submerging due to floods and massive soil erosions. Experts believe that by 2030, the island would be completely engulfed in water.
