Have you guys ever thought of walking in the Tea gardens or Walking above the Clouds and Driving in Hills or tasting the best Tea or Walking in a spice gardens where you can enjoy the aroma of spicies like Caramom, Mace, Cummin, Fenel or Watching a Kathakali Dance and Martial Art Show live?

We thought and we Planned and Fulfilled. It was another Tick in our Travel Destination list and but it doesn't mean that we are not coming here again, We would definitely coming back at this place and spending some more days to explore it.

Yes we are talking about "Munnar- The Kashmir of South India" Which is situated in Indian State of Kerala and its most favorite destination of the people who loves Hills, Greenery and Clouds.

Best Season to go to Munnar

Best season to go to Munnar is from November to March as the wheather is Pleasant to chilled to pleasant as soon as March comes.

Monsoon is also good season to visit but in monsoon you wont be able to go out as it rains heavily but you can enjoy the wheather and Rains. Roads are not very good during the Monsoon so confirm and drive safely when you are going in Monsoon.

How to Reach Munnar

Munnar is very well connected by road from Kochi (Cochin) City and Kochi is connected with all the major cities by flight, train and By Road.

By Flight

You can reach to Kochi from your respective City and from there you can hire a cab from airport and that will take you to Munnar which Approx 100 Km from there and it takes 3 hours to reach.

By Train

You can reach Ernakulam Station from your respective location by Train and from there you can take cab which will take you to Mummnar.

Where to Stay in Munnar

Many Hotels from Economical to Luxurious, Home Stays, Guest Houses are there which you can choose as per your budget.

Though in season the tariff is high so you can choose it as per you pocket.

Attraction in Munnar

Being Situated on a Hills station is itself an Attraction but There are many places you can visit in Munnar apart from Visiting the hills and can experience the culture of Kerala Also.

Tea Garden

We always wanted to do a Tea Garden visit and thats the thing which Brought us to Munnar.

Tea Garden VIsit is an Main Attraction which you can take. Lot of hotels and resorts arrange these Tea Garden Visit for their Guests and you can ask to any local person for the same.

Spice Garden

We Knew about the treee or plants of spicies but never experienced or visited a place where spicies are sowed and grown and this wish came true in Munnar when we visited 2 spice gardens in Munnar area. One was free tour and once was a paid tour. Free tour you can check with your resort where they give tour to Spice gardens and Tea Gardens and for paid tour there are many gardens where you get the Paid Tour and also you can buy the Spices and Ayurveda Medicines.

Kathakali Show

you are in Kerala and not going to watch the Kathakali SHow then you are missing the Main Attraction of Kerala. Munnar is famous for its Kathakali Show. You can go to Kalarikshethra which is in Munnar to enjoy this Amazing Dance form of Kerala.

Kalari Martial Art

Kalari MArtial Art is the Oldest Indian MArtial art which is famous all around the world. If you are in Munnar then You gotta watch this as it is most thrilled and Nail bitting Kalari Martial Art show. Initially we were not planning to watch this but later when we reach Kalarikshethra to watch the Kathakali show, the posters and a person over there suggested to watch this amazing show and i must say that was a good decision to watch this iconic Indian Martial Art.

Food

The food has a vast variety in Kerala and if yiu are food lover then you should not miss the food in here. We explored all type of Keralite Veg & Non Veg food. So you can explore that also and if possible try both the Hotel/Resort food and Road side small restaurant food.

KDHP VIsit

After visiting Tea gardens you must be having a thought in your mind about how the tea granuals are being made out of tea leaves. For that the best idea is to visit the Tea Factory. KDHP (Kanna Devan Hills Plantations) is one of the Largest tea Factory in India and they provide a tea factory tour in which they explain how they process the tea leaves and make tea granuals out of that. Its a Wonderful tour which should not be missed.

Tea, Coffee and Chocolates Purchasing.

While visitng the Tea factory you can buy the Tea, Coffe and Handmade CHocolates from the Outleft which is in KDHP Factory Compound only. You will get a varity of the Tea options in there. This Store name is Ripple Tea Store.

Sunset & Sunrise

Enjoy and Rejoice the Sunrise and Sunset if you loves them. We really enjoyed those from our Resort Porch.

Apart from these you can visit many places like Echo Point, Kundala Lake, Wild Elephant Point,Mattupetty Dam, Can do the Rock Climbing, can visit some temples there, enjoy the Chocolate Tea at any roadside stalls.

Enjoy the Photography and take selfies.

There are more the 40 places or things to explore in Munnar so if you have time and can stay there for 5-6 days then you can cover al lthose 40+ Places.
