We landed in khajuraho early morning and straight away checked into our hotel which was pre booked.
We started around 9 o clock in the morning and headed to western group of temples. The main temples in this block is Khandariya mahadev temple, Lakshmana temple, Matangeshwar temple and Vishwanath temple (famous for erotic sculpture) .
Then we moved towards Northern group of temples and saw them and came back to Western group of temples. We had lunch there (lot of good cafes are there) and moved towards Reneh water falls which looks good during monsoon. But during monsoon Ken ghariyal Sanctuary and Panna national park will be closed. The thing is, going to falls is a costly affair, for 3 people it costed 1000 bucks (500 auto fee + 500 entry fee). If you are on budget trip then skip this. Or else go by rental bike so that it cost less and you can go to one British era Dam {auto people take extra charge for this}.
Bikes are available for rent infront of western group of temples for around ₹500 per day, Cycle are available for ₹200 per day and auto takes ₹300 to show the whole city and additional ₹800 for falls. (we were good at bargain, so we got it for ₹500)
We came back in the evening and explored the food options there (near Western group of temples). Later on we moved to see Southern group (not so worth of visiting, but its having erotic sculptures) of temples and later went to see the light show next to Western group of temples. It's available in Hindi and English. Please see the image below to know about the timings.
Next day early morning we visited Eastern group of temples as the temples opens at 6 o clock. After coming back we had tiffin and checked out from hotel and caught our train at morning 9.25 towards Jhansi.
Reached Jhansi at 2 o'clock. Soon we reached we finished our lunch and started moving towards Jhansi fort. It's a very nice fort which is at the top of the hills. Explore the fort and the little park below it. There isn't much places to visit in Jhansi.
Ideal time required to see the fort is 1.5 hours and later before going to park you can visit archaeological museum if you have time. All 3 are located nearby.
Plz note : It is difficult to cover all these places in 4 days, but as we were hardcore travellers we managed it in our own way. The given schedule is a little bit hectic, you can cover all these if you are flexible with your time.
We covered only the important places here and left out less important ones and you can modify this according to your wishes.. 😊
We 3 friends started our journey by night train from Delhi to Khajuraho..
This I can say as the hidden treasure near Jhansi which is having every potential to grow as a good tourist place. Not much people visit it and is out of those busy life.
Later we went to Orchha and started exploring the medieval city.
This is the place in India where Lord Sriram is worshipped as a king not as a God. Plz note that the temples closes at 12 pm and reopen at 8 pm.

This and the above mentioned place are at the same fort complex. 3 hours is required to explore it completely.
This is a very old and beautiful temple. You will be exhausted before you visit the top.
These are the buildings which are built in the memory of martyred Kings.
After this we played in the Betwa River for sometime. Plz carry extra clothes so that you can play in the river.
We came back to Jhansi and stayed there.
After visiting cinotaphs, cross the river and just take a silent walk in the sanctuary (on road) holding hands of your beloved. Its very nice as its very less crowded. You can take a ticket of ₹50 and can enter into the sanctuary park.
Next day early morning we caught the train and moved to Gwalior.
To be frank you can explore Gwalior for 2 days, seeing different museums, temples and trying different cuisines. But we had only one day left with us, so we saw only must see places.
It's a very big fort complex. Consisting of 8 monuments, 1 Palace and Chaturbhuj temple. Ideally require 3 hours to explore it.
Mansingh Palace is a never miss place of Gwalior. The speciality of this is maze i.e bhoolbulayya . It's one of the place where you are allowed to explore the underground as well.
And Chaturbhuj temple which is enroute to downtown gate is having a inscription where zero is used for the 1st time in Gwalior.
It's museum which is very well maintained. It mainly depict the wealth of Scindias. The entry ticket is ₹150 +100 if you want to take a mobile or camera. It's having a very large dining table where food is served by small train as like that of Ki & Ka movie.
This is one of the temples known for its bhoolbulayya type of architecture like as Man Singh palace.
It's located next to railway station. Have a cup of coffee with masala Dosa here.. It's awesome and also very reasonable price.
So here we completed our trip. We took a evening train to Delhi and went back. Overall experience was awesome. For Delhi people going to hills during monsoon is risky. So it's the best alternative to it.
