Day 1

Before I start , below is the summary of our journey during corona epidemic which included quarantine period as well. If you have any quiery about Travel, please feel free to drop comment on this post.

Mumbai to Chandigarh - Air Travel
Chandigarh to Shimla - Road travel ( E pass required as well Travel tickets)
Mashobra Naldehra Shimla Quarantine At Prestine Peaks Mahindra club.
Institutional Quarantine Base to Village, Home.

Well  this epidemic has left us with lots of clarities and confusions at the same time , personally I would say whatever happens, happens for good and it did. But yean when it comes for travelling part, it became more strict and restricted which was needed.
Me and my siblings decided to go hometown and booked our tickets on 18 june. This time, air travel formalities were all online and we were made to checkin earlier than usual. We were all ready with documents such as printed copy of our tickets since it was mentioned to bring your own tickets and baggage tags as well. And don't forget to download Arogya Setu app and declare yourself safe by putting all the necessary info in app. But one thing happened very strange  at airport that we got our tickets as well tags from there only then why they mentioned to print our own tags and tickets and use them. So it was a waste for doing that. Plus it was all mentioned very strictly that certain baggage limit is there. But it was quiet lenient there and you could bring a lil extra baggage.

During boarding time we got our all seats in between the three seats so we had to wear these special suits so as to prevent corona spread. Every passanger got a kit ( mask, Sanitizer and face shield)
Everything went smooth and this time it was quicker than it used to be at airport.
As we landed at CHD airport, we had to submit our suits as well masks and shield. We booked a cab from Vacation service company from Chandigarh, let me know if you are looking for one. Will share the details. These people were very helpful and professional  service. Our e pass was already generated by the company guy. Note - you can also generate your e pass by yourself since it gets approved after 24 hours. And you must know e pass is the most important documents you should generate when you are travelling from road. It basically asking for permission from government to let you travel via roadways. We showed our adhar cards, e pass and our travel tickets. We had a lil problem at first stop where one of our e pass was on hold. So they stopped us but after talking to policeman, they sent our details to next check point which was in shoghi.  Once we reached there, we were asked about our travel, numbers, adhar card details, temperature check etc. Right from Mumbai travel, we already got all the information about the centres for quarantine in Shimla area which was uploaded on HP govt site. You can browse all the rules and important information from HP government site.

The incharge guy told us that we had to follow 7 to 8 days Quarantine at hotel , after that we had to give address of Shimla urban area only since we were doing quarantine at Shimla only. Otherwise another option was to do quarantine at your tehsil guest house which was near our village only and then follow rest of the days at village. But we chose Shimla Quarantine since it was a better option to stay at hotel. Luckily, Prestine peak had rooms and it was unpaid stay since HP govt was paying for it. After taking our details and our drivers details, we headed towards hotel Mashobra.
As we reached there, our details were taken by government assigned team. We were given four different keys for four rooms. The rooms were awesome since it was of Mahindra Club. One might think how come government is providing so luxurious accommodation for quarantine. Well first of all, the hotel industry was shut already and government was paying these hotels for services.
Food was nice and simple. Basic amenities such as quilt, bed sheet, plate, spoon, hot water, etc were provided.
When we were at our 7th day, test was taken by medical team. And we got our result around like 10 day and it was negative. We got our test certificates that day only . We got to know that this hotel was about to shut in 30 th June  , so we decided to stay at hotel rather than shifting to our relatives house at Shimla for rest of the days since we still didn't get our results. And the incharge guy told us that we can do this, it's not an issue. So basically everything wasn't very strict like it sounded earlier from other sources. So we stayed at hotel till 28th and we completed our 12  days at hotel only and the doctor told us we can complete our rest days at village. We left the next day, 29 June. We already booked our Taxi  and left in morning.. Since HP is a green Zone, most of the shops were open. We went to other markets as well as mall also. Everything was open and it didn't feel like proper lockdown the way it used to feel at Mumbai.
