Working for 5-6 days a week, spending hours in commute accompanied with loud honking and pollution takes a toll on the health of our mind. We all our desperately looking for short breaks to release our stress and breathe a little clean air away from the hustle of city life.
Dehradun - Mussoorie, being the closest of all hill stations from Delhi, was our escapade this time. We reached Dehradun in the afternoon and checked into 'Hotel Pacific Dehradun'. The amazing 4 star property is located centrally in the city, near to almost all famous tourist attractions. The place has a number of stay options for all budgets albeit each option has all amenities and top notch service for a luxurious and comfortable stay.
We went for lunch at their in-house restaurant - Paradise, which offers a number of cuisines and a breakfast buffet as well! For our lunch, we chose to try their Chinese options. We started with a hot bowl of Hot & Sour soup along with Veg Salt & Pepper. Chicken Dimsums were next on table. The food was really good, each and every dish that the chef had prepared had the traditional and distinct flavours of the ingredients used. We moved over to main course with Chilli Garlic Chicken Fried Rice along with Chicken in Hot Garlic Sauce.
Satiated with such a lavish meal, we spent some time in the evening in leisure, exploring the local flavours, enjoying the little chilly air and clicking some beautiful shots. We went to see the great Clock Tower which serves as a landmark for the city and it has a unique hexagonal structure with six faces around it. Then we strolled through the famous Paltan Bazaar and bought some bakery items from the Ellora's.
On returning back, we wandered around the property before going for supper. We opted for our favourite North Indian - Mughlai Cuisine for dinner. Started with some Sizzlers, we had Mushroom Cabbana, Gilafi Kebab and Paneer Tikka. Each dish was charred so well and the margination had seeped to great extent which increased our cravings and further we tried Mutton Rogan Josh and Chicken Biryani. We had already over eaten so we called it a day and took some rest in our luxurious rooms before setting out for the next day.
In the morning, we took a tour of the property after having a heavy breakfast and moved to our next destination - Mussoorie. We reached their late afternoon and checked into 'Hotel Pacific Mussoorie'. This property is located on the very famous camel back road and we enjoyed the majestic view of the mountains before going for Hi Tea.
After some snacks we toured the grand property which was another piece of luxury just like its Dehradun cousin. Lavish rooms and amenities, view of grand mountains and calmness - perfect for a peaceful stay. We left our rooms and strolled around on the famous Mall Road collecting souvenirs and memories. The evening was breathtakingly beautiful as we overlooked tiny city lights of Dehra city from the Mall Road.
We started out for next day after breakfast and reached Dehradun railway stations to head home after this mesmerising stay in the mountains. The cosy stay, fascinating views and delectable meals made our weekend a great one. So head out this week and visit the Pacific Hotels for an unforgettable trip.
