In this video, we cover the 2nd part of our travel starting from Klausturvegur through southern coastal road and up to the east central part of the country and stopping at a small farm at Laugarvatn. The drive took us through famous black beaches of Iceland. It was some experience driving off road on these beaches!. Next on our way was the site of the 'famous' crashed US Navy plane. Though it was sunny in patches, it was extremely windy... we were pretty close to giving up while hiking 8 kms to and from the icy coast where the crash site was.
The weather was bit rainy initially, but the beautiful surrounding made up for it. With a few stops in between - to catch the fascinating views of valleys from mountain tops, the innumerable waterfalls and a confluence of two rivers - and an unfortunate detour that made us drive an extra 300 kms., we finally reached our stop for the day - Klausturvegur.
