That day we do a day trip to the incredible Milford Sound. The weather gods turned the day bright and sunny and the cruise was simply mind boggling with deep blue waters, waterfalls, rainbows, birds and sea lions
Milford Sound is a fjord in South Island. It's known for towering Mitre Peak, rainforests and one of the highest waterfalls in New Zealand - the Bowen falls, which plummet down its sheer sides. The fjord is home to penguins, fur seal colonies and dolphins. We were lucky to spot some seals while cruising.On completing the Milford Sound cruise we spent the night at Gunn's camp, a historic camp nestled in the Hollyford Valley.
DAY 6: MILFORD SOUND CRUISE/ FIRODLAND HIKE This day we headed to tour the spectacular Milford sound on a small cruise. We were lucky to have experienced wild dolphins, seals lazing on rocks and a stunning water fall. The cruise tour was an awe-inspiring visual treat.If you want, you can take up popular guided hike along the Firodland as well to witness their wildlife in the forests and more scenic beauty.
