Swim with Philippines' Whale Sharks that are 10 Times Heavier than a Car Swimming with whale sharks is the ultimate underwater adventure for every thrill seeker. Whale sharks are the world’s largest fish and can grow up to 12 meters in length and can weigh up to 20 tons. I will never forget the first time I saw a whale shark. I knew they were big but did not realize their scale until I saw them up close. The shark was docile and was graciously swimming around, looking for food. Before I knew it, I was surrounded by four giant whale sharks. Although I was careful of keeping a distance of at least 4mt from the beasts, they did not seem to be aware of the rule! Extremely curious, a couple of them swam to almost touching distance of me. Trying hard not to freak out, I grabbed my GoPro and took a few photos of the sharks. I have photographed several wild animals in the past, but this was one of the most thrilling experiences I have ever had.

Cebu is one of the biggest islands of the Philippines. We took a flight from Palawan to Cebu. The whale shark swimming was in a place called Oslob in Cebu. Whale sharks are also called as Gentle Giants. The fishermen in Oslob feed these whale sharks and they come to relatively shallow part of the sea. Offbeat tourists flock from every part of the world to swim with the biggest fish in the world. The average height of the whale sharks is around 30 feet. It was a gorgeous experience to swim with these beautiful animals. So elegant and so scary. Read more about this experience here.

Oslob Old Church also known as Nuestra Señora de la Inmaculada Conception was one of the Oldest Churches in Cebu City. It was gutted by fire years ago leaving only the Spanish Architecture. When I visited the place it was already reconstructed through the efforts of the concerned locals. Locals believe that this century old church was intended as a station for pirates. Beside the church is their Ruins. These two Spanish Infrastructure that still exist in Oslob are very interesting to visit. There are a lot of benches, the Carabao grass carpeted in the park, splashing sound of the waves in near seashore, and breathtaking view of vast sea horizon. How to get there: Just take a Bus in Cebu City South Bus Terminal anytime because there's a lot of trip going/passing Oslob. Just inform the Driver to drop you off at Oslob Market. Enjoy the view! Enjoy your travel!
