Someshwar

Someshwar is a beautiful and small hilly town in Uttarakhand's Almora, located on the banks of rivers Kosi and Sai. It is a holy place dedicated to Lord Shiva. The ancient Someshwar Mahadev temple is also situated here. Kausani, a popular tourist destination, is only 10km away from Someshwar. Nine kilometres from Kausani, in a very beautiful valley, is located the famous Shiva temple of Someshwar Mahadev. It is believed that the temple was made by the Kumaon ruler Somchand. The temple is built in Katyuri style of architecture and has a large collection of bells. Someshwar is well-connected and is a great place for those looking for a peaceful and quiet stay.

We had a real good and crispy aloo paratha at Someshwar. We reached Chaukori by 2.30pm.. The roads were quite narrow. We stayed at Hotel Sunrise which turned out to be True to its name..Dinner again was delicious. Typical home made food.
