LUXURY CAMPING AT RANTHAMBORE

Day 1

So it was long pending on my travel bucket list to visit a National Park and dream came true this time at Ranthambore National Park in Rajasthan. Other than tiger and deer sighting at the national park, what else stood apart during this trip, was my stay at Sultan Bagh Jungle Camp.

We all wish to stay in jungle camp and feel the nature.. Right? But given the security reasons and the urban lifestyle that we are addicted towards, we fail to accomplish that. This resort cum jungle camp lets u do the same without any extra effort and not burning hole in your pocket, which otherwise would have happened, if one will stay at Oberoi Vanyavillas or Taj Hotel here. I am not complaining but rather pointing out, how this place offered all things luxury at most affordable budget and I wish to revisit the jungle camps at Sultan Bagh again, whenever possible.

Location: The property is located at a distance of 14kms from Sawai madhopur Railway Station and takes about 30 minutes. The Ranthambore National Park is 30 minutes away from the resort.

Room: There are various categories of tents available here. The best being a cottage and starting category is Rajwada Tent. We have stayed at Maharaja Tent which was extremely spacious and having its own sitting area too. I would suggest you booking the same. If you are worried about the bathroom part, then guys this is the place where this jungle camp property gets the brownie point. The bathroom is huge and with all modern facilities. The room has a small desk area too where if you are into writing or reading, you can do that at your own pace, like I did ;)

Food: They have a restaurant of their own attached to the lobby sitting area, serving you both lunch and dinner. Now here is the tricky part, as we know Ranthambore is a very remote area and only business activity that goes on here are the hotels, resorts, camps and definitely the Jungle safari so restaurant offers very limited choices having both non-veg and veg items in it. I would suggest you to let them know 3 hours prior to your lunch or dinner time so that they can prepare the same for you. I have let them know whenever I felt like having non-veg or anything in particular and it was made ready for me without any default.

Staff: The staffs are super friendly and very kind, helpful. It is the staffs together that will make you return to the property again. From meeting your daily food needs to booking your safari and dropping you till the National Park, they take care of all duties with diligence.

Price: As I said earlier at the beginning of this staycation review, this place offers you all things luxurious at an affordable price. Still I will break it up for you. If you book the packages, it will be wise decision as within a budget of INR 7000 per night, you will get complimentary breakfast and one major meal ie lunch or dinner (as you wish) and complimentary evening tea and cookies in the garden. Now thats a yummy deal.

The Sultan Bagh Jungle Camp also boasts a small swimming pool if you are in mood for a dip and very pretty lush green open spaces to stroll around lazily. If you have booked your jungle safari on your own, then they can drop you till your entry gate at Ranthambore National Park and if not, they can book the jungle safari too provided you inform them atleast one day prior as in peak season, Safari's are full and in very much demand.
