Jowai in Meghalaya is a picturesque town with lots to offer. From beautiful sightseeing spots to a bit of history and culture, this lovely town is must visit! For nature lovers, the Krang Suri should definitely be included in the itinerary. It's a little offbeat, so you may have to ask around for help from the locals to find your way here but it's worth the effort! Among other popular falls, the Leshka Fall (a hidden treasure), the Tyrshi Falls and Bophill Falls are also definitely a must visit. The Lalong Park is a hidden gem 10 km away from Jowai. The scenic sight of the bridge amidst lush greenery is perfect for an enriching photography experience, but do take a break from the photography and spend a few hours with nature. Another popular spot in Jowai is the Nartiang area – a striking sight with beautiful monoliths scattered around. Do come here for your dose of art! The Umlawan Caves of the region are the deepest and longest caves in the subcontinent, with interesting stalagmite formations which make them a must visit for the sheer grandeur of their geography!
