Jowai Tourism & Travel Guide

Jowai in Meghalaya is a picturesque town with lots to offer. From beautiful sightseeing spots to a bit of history and culture, this lovely town is must visit! For nature lovers, the Krang Suri should definitely be included in the itinerary. It's a little offbeat, so you may have to ask around for help from the locals to find your way here but it's worth the effort! Among other popular falls, the Leshka Fall (a hidden treasure), the Tyrshi Falls and Bophill Falls are also definitely a must visit. The Lalong Park is a hidden gem 10 km away from Jowai. The scenic sight of the bridge amidst lush greenery is perfect for an enriching photography experience, but do take a break from the photography and spend a few hours with nature. Another popular spot in Jowai is the Nartiang area – a striking sight with beautiful monoliths scattered around. Do come here for your dose of art! The Umlawan Caves of the region are the deepest and longest caves in the subcontinent, with interesting stalagmite formations which make them a must visit for the sheer grandeur of their geography!

Day 3 Hired a taxi - Innova for the entire trip from Shillong @ Rs.4000 per day. Travel to Nartiang Monoliths - 40kms from Shillong city - many people might skip this but because of my varied interests I found them interesting, these are MONOLITHS ( large pieces of stones) which were erected approximately during 1500 AD to commemorate the glorious events of the Jaintia Kingdom. Visit to nearby Nartiang Durga Temple And the best part of the day was the near by Tyrshi waterfalls - a must go! Back to Shillong city - visited the church - really beautiful Evening snack @ Shillong cafe - good and really famous Dinner @ Lamee restaurant becoz vegetarians are choosy and have less options!

The largest and the busiest city in Bangladesh, Dhaka may seem like a regular, commercial city to you in the first glance but it's much more. It's a place that grows on you with time, and when it does, it's difficult to forget its many experiences. If this is your first visit here, you can choose among the many Dhaka day tours. The tours will help you see the city in its entirety and one can also choose customised tours according to individual preferences. Lal Bagh Fort, Liberation War Museum and Ahsan Manzil are some of the must-visit spots in Dhaka. Do include Baitul Mukarram Mosque in your itinerary. It is the 10th largest mosque in the world and is a sight to behold. Sonargaon is another wonderful place to include in your itinerary. An erstwhile administrative centre of Bengal, the site makes for an interesting visit outside Dhaka. Sitara Mosque is named so because it is decorated with a million stars and is a delight to explore. There are a number of options to stay in Dhaka and you can choose one according to your budget or preference.
