The twin hill-stations of Khandala and Lonavala are well known for their beauty and adventure opportunities. Khandala, which is located 7 km away from Lonavala, is the quieter hill station and a must-visit for its peace and serenity. Fondly known as the 'Jewel of the Sahydaris', Khandala is home to numerous waterfalls, hiking trails and picturesque walking paths. Do visit Reversing Station, Rajmachi Fort for the apt view points it offers, Nagphani and Tiger Point or Tiger's Leap. It is said, on close observation, one finds that the valley resembles a tiger leaping from the mountain. Khandala is the perfect spot for a quiet, laidback holiday without the usual rush of tourists. There are lovely guesthouses here which promise one a rejuvenating holiday. Surprisingly the best time to visit Khandala is during the monsoons.
