Auli Tourism and Travel Guide

Popular for being a ski resort where skiing and snowboarding can be enjoyed during winters, Auli's also visited in the summer for a majestic 180-degree view of the second highest peak in India, Nanda Devi, and the snow-laden Himalayas. During summers, the ski slopes turn to picturesque lush meadows making it perfect for small hikes or a leisurely stroll. Travellers can also choose to do sightseeing aboard Asia's longest cable car or rope way. Another panoramic spot that is a must visit is the shimmering Chenab Lake, which can be reached via a thrilling trek through the Dang village. Flocked by pilgrims, Badrinath temple is also accessible by trekking. There aren't any places to shop out here but one can always go downhill to Joshimath, for shawls and other woollen apparel. While there aren't any fancy restaurants in Auli, the little joints scattered all around its charming terrains serve delicious Garhwali dishes, as well as the usual north Indian fare.
