Mount Sinai is considered to be very unsafe and is not advised for Solo or women traveller I would like to tell you...Do not listen...I am a women I went to DAHAB,wore a bikini,Dive in Red Sea....Crossed the Sinai....The best place to get lost and find yourself!!!
How to reach : Take a Bus from Cairo or a direct flight(I would recommend during the summers) which takes around an hr to reach SharmEl-Sheikh. Take a Taxi to Dahab or pre book the Cab/taxi if you are flying in odd hours like I booked in advance with the stay as we where to reach at 1 am(Yes, 1 am Sinai) at our stay at Dahab. The road from Sharm to Dahab is around an 1 and half also it may vary depending on the check point traffic and the land slide(if any).It is a wonderful and safe experience to see the beautiful mountain trail and star lit sky.
Once we reached our hotel cum hostel cum backpackers delight to our surprise the city was awake,Dahab is a wonderful place on the mountain foot with Red Sea embracing the coast. Best part you can hear the Sea waves all light up with the moonlight and Sky with stars shining enough to make you realize what you Miss in Cities.
Dahab is famous for it's amazing diving which you can book in advance or can book on the spot. It has Beer/alcohol and good food to offer from around the world. The City center is a shopping hub if you can bargain you won't regret.The small artistic restaurant run by locals and foreigners are a must try. There is a small shopping mall for all the daily necessity(You will need it trust me..especially the water and toiletries). Once you are done with diving you can enroll for the Dinner in the desert which we Miss unfortunately.
Places to visit : City center,Blue hole,Red Sea and Dessert.
Caution : As Dahab is on the seashore the water is way to salty so you may need and extra bottle of water for rinsing yourself after bath.
