EGYPT.. The Mother of the world, The land of legends & mystery each part has a story to tell, with the gift of Nile and The guardian of the past... Get inspired to travel with me to EGYPT where it all began.............
Day 1: Took flight from HIA airport DOHA (QATAR) to Cairo International Airport . We booked an Airbnb apartment in Giza, so our host had arranged pick up from airport, After an hour drive from Cairo airport we finally reached Giza (Pyramids view apartment) where our host discussed the day 2 planned itenary with us and also helped us exchange the currency.
Day 2: The day begins with a yummy egyptian breakfast "KHUSHARI", Now we are all set to see the PYRAMIDS of GIZA, The royal pyramid complexes, which include temples, causeways, and satellite pyramids, are surrounded by tombs of the elite-members of the royal family, the nobility, and the priesthood. At the foot of the plateau, south of the Great Sphinx, lie the Cemetery and Town of the Pyramid Builders, where the men and women who constructed the royal and elite tombs on the main plateau lived, worked, and were buried.
We later went to "AMON PAPYRUS MUSEUM " where the showed us how papyrus paper is made, we did some souvenir shopping of papyrus paintings then we headed for our lunch,
headed back to appartment for a refreshing coffee with a beautiful view of setting sun behind the pyramids.
Next stop is LUXOR. we took an overnight sleeping train from cair0 station to Luxor,
Day 3: LUXOR. Unlike Giza, Luxor is much greener as this place contributes to large scale of export of food grains and sugarcane.
We are all set to explore The Valley of the king & valley of the, Queen Nestled in the cliffs on the west bank of the Nile at Luxor, the isolated Valley of the Kings is home to the tombs of the great pharaohs of the New Kingdom (1550 – 1070 BC).There are 63 known tombs in the valley, 26 carved for kings and the others granted to royal family members or the highest of the elite. Of these, fifteen are currently open to the public: Ramesses I, Ramesses III, Ramesses IV, Ramesses V/VI, Ramesses VII, Ramesses IX, Seti II, Siptah, Merenptah, Thutmose III, Thutmose IV, Mentuherkhepshef, Tausret/Sethnakht, Ay, and Tutankhamun.
Next stop was THE TEMPLE OF QUEEN HATSHEPSUT, A daughter of King Thutmose I, Hatshepsut became queen of Egypt when she married her half-brother, Thutmose II, around the age of 12. Upon his death, she began acting as regent for her stepson, the infant Thutmose III, but later took on the full powers of a pharaoh, becoming co-ruler of Egypt.
DAY 4:We booked ourselves for some adventure, time to tick off an item from the bucket list. HOT AIR BALLOON over the Nile river ,the splendorous of the ancient historical sights of Luxor from the air. spectacular landscape from the unique viewpoint ,Gliding over the temples and burial grounds of the Pharaohs and allow history to come to life before your eyes.
Next we went to explore the Luxor temple...
Dedicated to the ka of the Egyptian king, and to a special form of Amun as a fertility god, this temple was the focus of the Opet Festival. During this great annual celebration of royal renewal, statues of the royal family and divine images of the Theban triad were brought in procession from their principal homes in Karnak Temple.
DAY 5: We took flight from Luxor airport to Sharm al sheikh, and took a cab to Dahab.. DAHAB... our next location for scuba diving in the red sea... we reached dahab "Deep blue divers dahab" we spent the night wandering on streets of dahab, trying egyptian local beer "SAKAR" and doing some street shopping. and looking at beauty of full moon shining on the waters of rea sea.. a mesmerizing beauty..
DAY 6: We are all set for our red sea scuba experience, It was a chance to explore a world unseen by most . After a set of 3 dives at different location we came back to the hostel .
Day 7 : Flying back to DOHA from SHARM AL SHEIK via Cairo,....
Indeed Egypt trip was a life time experience, from history of pyramids and ancient temples, to adventure of hot air balloon and scuba diving. One night i slept at the view of pyramids, the second at the nile river bank, then the other appreciating the beauty of the red sea...
TIPS:
1 > Egypt is safe. But as in any part of the world we have to be cautions ,
2> Remember egypt is a muslim country , dress modestly.( You can wear anything in DAHAB)
3> People will keep asking for tips for everything , just say NO THANKS (LA SHUKRAN ) and move on,
4> You need to have some serious bargaining skills to survive here, (i mean it )
