Day 1

Gangtok

I Booked a one day cab. Some hoteliers would offer you their cabs too but its cheap to book cab from travel agencies which can be found at every 500 mtr. They charge 1200-1500/-. Primarily they will take you to around 12-14 tourist spots (only few of them are big and actual tourist spots). Mostly they would constitute waterfalls, monarchies, museums and other view points. That one round by cab would be enough to cover the entire gangtok as it takes you in clockwise direction and drops you off at the same point they take you from. Don’t forget to roam around on mall road. i wandered in Gangtok just for a day and vanished off to other places.

Day 2

Nathula pass (east Sikkim)

On second day, I went to Indo-China border. While roaming around on mall road the previous day, we came across many travel agencies who were providing cab services to nearby places. They provided us with cab for 1500/- Nathula pass is 2 hours drive from Gangtok. The mountain route, which is occupied by the army, offers an exclusive experience. Although mountains were mostly hidden behind the clouds it’s scenery was gave awestruck views. Baba harbhajan singh temple which is located at nathula pass has it’s own histroy. If you plan to go there for long, do ask for passes from travel agencies which would take you to the border area. (which is just like wagha border). To arrange the passes it usually takes two days.

Day 3

west skkim

We booked the same cab to take us to west sikkim. It has tea garden and Bhudha temple. Although not much to see, but the route was worth going. Clouds were down enough to pass through us inside the car. If you have another two days, i would suggest you to escape either to Darjeeling or to north Sikkim. Its better to consult the travel agencies. Don’t resist to visit them. People there are very honest and good.
