Yes you read it right, Bungy Jumping in Sentosa Island, Singapore. It is definitely a must-do activity for the adventure seekers and even beginners. As someone who is novice in bungy jumping, I have been fascinated by those brave souls who made that jump or leap in the air. Added to that, I have an actual height phobia. This was actually one of my bucket list and something I want to do for a long time.
On 29 December 2020, I made the decision to book for the bungy jump as well as the giant swing at AJ Hackett, Sentosa. Along with my best friend, we head to Sentosa Island via train from Vivocity Singapore. Alighting at Siloso Beach, we found the spot near the beach while waiting for the activity schedule. Most of the attraction spots including AJ Hackett implement social distance measures and check-ins before entering the premises. Visitors are encouraged to do a pre-booking and payment for the activity. Additional costs such as media packs can be made for those looking to receive photos and actual video. The facility is known for its great track record with 100% emphasis on safety.
AJ Hackett's facility in Sentosa Island opens at 1pm and closes at 8pm. It offers other activity such as Vertical Walk and casual dining by the poolside and beach area.
At 50m in height, the tall towering structure is not that imposing but it can be intimidating from the top. Our first activity was the Giant Swing with my best friend. Both of us were unprepared but the instructor was helpful for both of us to enjoy our activity and feeling safe. The Giant Swings brings a good dose of adrenaline which can be described as being on a rocket launch and a playground swing which speeds up to 120km/hr! Both of us remained so calm that none of us actually screamed but we did enjoy the heart pumping action.
Next was my bungy jump which was scheduled at 3:30pm. At the top of the tower, it was a different experience altogether. With safety measures in place, the instructors ensured that the jumpers wear harness and ensure all precautions are done before the actual jump. My heart was definitely pumping when it was my turn and it was that thought of jumping from the edge. Counting backwards, I gathered my courage and leap from the edge. It was such a thrilling experience and no words can describe that unique feeling! With the Go-Pro attached to my hands, I smiled and showed the peace sign up in the air.
