Taki is on the bank of Ichamati river and is famous for Durga Puja Visharjan. Ichamoti separates India and Bangladesh and on the day of Vijayadashami, Durga Idol Immersions are performed by people from both countries. Until few years they could even cross international borders and exchange sweets under the supervision of BSF and BDR.
This is a famous exhibition which attracts thousands of tourists from around the globe. In 2021 the celebration was scaled down and many restrictions were in place. Still, a huge crowd visited Taki on the day of Vijayadashami. It was an overwhelming experience for us as well.
