Kalimpong is about 2.5 hours away from Darjeeling and Siliguri. Located in the mid ranges of the Himalayas, known for its lush green slopes and deep rolling valleys, the hill station of Kalimpong is a traveller’s delight! The Teesta River separates the town from Sikkim and the site makes for a splendid sight. Known as ‘the land of kings’ in its native dialect, Kalimpong is situated on a ridge connecting the two hills of Deolo and Durpin. The multilingual culture has a beautiful vibe with Buddhist monasteries, temples and quaint churches in colonial architecture. Though there is not much to see in Kalimpong besides the stunning mountainside, you can view the beautiful Neora Valley National Park. The thick forests here are home to endangered species such as the Red Panda, Barking Deer and Himalayan Tahr.
