Kuta is a surfer's paradise and the party lover's favourite stop in Bali. Everything about Kuta is out of the ordinary, be it the ornate bars and restaurants or the scenic views. A lazy day by the beach and a crazy night at the beach bar, Kuta is an experience over just a destination.
Kuta got developed as a backpacker’s paradise but now attracts all kinds of tourists. Head to hypnotized on the beach walk mall for some good house music and free flow of beer. Sky Garden has a lot of hype but I personally did not like the place much because its expensive and dingy. A great hangout was the Reggae bar besides Sky Garden, where you have live music till midnight and the DJ plays after that. Bounty and Paddy's club besides that is another great place for a beer and to shake your leg a little bit.
After lunch, it was time to head back for Kuta. Bali is also famous for its artists. Their paintings are some of the best in the world. I decided to stop by one holy spring temple in Ubud on the way back to Kuta.
Finally made it back to Kuta to indulge myself to more heavenly massages. After 2 hours of non stop Spa Treatment, walked the streets to check out the nightlife of Kuta. Bali in general is filled with many Australians given the close proximity to Australia. The Traffic here is pretty bad, so its always better to get a two wheeler on rent (by the ways -its dirt cheap to hire one ). Kuta is often compared to PATONG area in Phuket. Having been to Patong also, i felt Kuta is much more classier and neater than Patong even though commercial activity is pretty large. There are large malls in Kuta Area and plenty of Pubs and Restaurants in and around Kuta and Massage Parlors and Spa. Everything here is cheap- but you could easily forget how much money you actually spent !!!!
After Lunch, we were in for the second dive which took us deeper into the ocean to explore. Along with us went the GoPro Cameras to capture the wonderful pictures deep inside the sea. Words could not describe the sightings we had and experienced inside.
A wonderful Golf Resort was waiting us at the end of the scuba diving trip . Universe does Magic at times, having come to Bali after forgetting my debit card, i could not have imagined that i would end up doing all this. I have to thank all my wonderful friends all the people who offered help and favor from unexpected corners and speed.
The opposite of Ubud is Kuta, on the southern tip of Bali, to the south of Denpasar. Kuta is the image many people have of Bali. It starts with a long beach, with the usual assortment of beach chairs, beach vendors, and all of the relaxing things one can think of. On the three or four streets back is the beach life commercial infrastructure. There are several shopping malls, restaurants, hotels, and cafes. The further back you go, the more ‘traditional’ are the shops. In these shops there is an assortment of items: Bali masks next to t-shirts and ginormous wooden penises juxtaposed against camera batteries and knock off DVDs. Bargaining is a fact of life, never accept the first price offered, but don’t try and be too cheap—these people do need to make a living. Unsurprisingly, there are hookers in Kuta. They hang out on the beach at night, and at the site of the Bali bombing memorial.
Should you visit Kuta? I was of two minds, originally I decided not to go, I have seen beach spots before (and, hailing as I do from the great southern continent, the beaches in Kuta are not so great), however, I did spend a day there, and I am glad that I did. There is that drunken element, and an amount of sleaze—the many bars and nightclubs—but a lot less than other places, and, well, if that is what people want, fair enough.
Deepest, darkest Kuta is just like Patong. Hiding underneath a shiny sheen of clean footed and flip-flopped tourists with glowing skin, neon lights and pumping house music is an underbelly of poverty. Girls in skimpy dresses and people trying to make a buck where they can.
