This is a small town in the Mandal Region of the Anantapur District and is considered as the holy abode of Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and Lord Veerabhadra due to the presence of temples dedicated to them. The most famous out of all is the Veerbhadra Temple. This temple was built by brothers Viranna and Virupanna and is dedicated tp Veerbhadra. The temple is in the Vijayanagara style of architecture. The rock chain, Vastu Purush, hanging pillar, Padmini lace lady, Durga Padam and the Lepakshi sari designs are the main features of this beautiful temple. The lovely paintings on the ceiling depicts scenes from Ramayana and Mahabharata and were made using natural pigments. The Siva's Granite bull or Nandi is another attraction of Lepakshi.
