Dotted at the southern tip of South Andaman, this village is famous for housing the renowned Mahatma Gandhi National Park, which offers tourists a chance to view its beautiful marine life and coral reefs through scuba diving, snorkelling and glass bottom boats. Boats also regularly take one to islands such as Jolly Buoy and Red Skin from the marine park. Wandoor usually serves as a gateway for most tourists to the main capital, Port Blair, which is only an hour away and offers more variety in terms of things to see and do. The Cellular Jail or Kala Pani remains the most famous spot for visitation because of its dark and heavy past. Other spots include the Anthropological Museum, Ross Island (which also hosts a spectacular light and sound show) and Corbyn's Cove, where one also passes through Japanese WWII bunkers along the way, guaranteed to give you the chills. There are a few restaurants at Wandoor, where you can get a bite to eat. Sea Princess and Anugama resorts offer places to stay from Rs 6000 onwards.
