Chopta- chandrashilla trek

Tripoto
3rd Jun 2018
Day 1

As our first day, we were not sure about how many days I might take we thought it would take 2-3 days, but eventually the trip was extended to 4 days.
Day:1
We boarded the bus to rishikesh from Kashmiri gate, one must check the bus timmings if you guys wish to go by ac bus, else you can take the bus around 10 or 11 without prior reservations.

Day 2

Early morning we were dropped off on rishikesh bus stand, from were we have to search for the our next transport to the chopta.
To our surprise, we reached that early there that the local shops were not even opened yet.
To that we had to wait there about an hour to ask someone for further assistance.
So, we choose to go there by the rented bikes, we asked the local rickshaw to drop us near the bike rental shop, he dropped us near lakshman jhulla but one can find the rental shops near the bus stand itself.
After, hiring the bikes we went to fresh up ourself, had a lite breakfast and left for the ride to chopta.
During the ride, we had our first stop at srinagar for our lunch and again left for chopta we were in a hurry as we know that we won't be able to make it in time as riding bikes after 6 on mountains is not safe, one must check the maps regular so that you don't miss the turn towards the ukhimath that we took the wrong one and drove 30 kms in opposite direction.
In the middle of the evening (8 pm) when couldn't find a single person near around nor we know that we were going right or not, that was the height to our adventure xD
Then we just took a halt as soon as we saw a lantern light far away, thanks to god he had a place to provide us for which he took good amount of money which was not worth it.
We asked for some tea from him and had it with some biscuits we took along the journey. That was the just dinner we had that day.
To be helpful I must suggest you guys to cover the kms as much as possible and take a halt when ever it starts getting dark.

Day 3

We woke up at 4 in the morning, there was no place to get fresh so we warmed up our bikes and left the place at 5 in the morning.
From there the chopta peak was still 35-40 kms away which took 1.5 hrs to cover. We reach the chopta peak prox. at 7 am, and were very glad to be at the right location.
Rather you reach the chopta on the very first day or the another day it one another the same thing, but i found it better that we could start the trek early in the morning when  no one was there to start the trek with us.
We trekked to tungnath temple from chopta and then to chandrashilla peak that was totally worth bearing the night ride.
We came back from the chandrashilla peak before the evening that was one of the peaceful trek in my entire life.
We took a room there, there was very low temperature so we went for the room, one can also stay in camps that you can easily find there.
We had a night of relief that day, as we have completed our trek safe and sound.

Day 4

We woke up early as we had to cover the whole distance on the particular day only, on our way back we halt at the same srinagar shop had our snacks and left from there.
On our way back, we saw a debris bank of our river ganga as at that time water level was low so a mini beach was developed along the shore we have our halt there rested near river side and left from there within an hour.
Finally we reached back to rishikesh in the evening  submitted our bikes safely, had our snacks and went for the rishikesh bus stand.
If you wish to go back by ac bus you have to wait till 10 pm
else you can prefer by non ac buses.
We boarded the bus at 7:30 and were back in delhi by 12:30 (mid night)
