There are certain times in life when you want to do something badly, but it seems that the world is conspiring against you. My recent trip to Bali was one such trip. From finding the right company (which makes me think if it is this a regular problem- finding your travel companion) to almost missing my flight, things looked pretty bad, until...I landed in Ubud.

So here I have tried to develop my little itinerary basis my experience for you to undertake, if the rest of the internet is a little to confusing.

Day 1

For accomodation, I suggest to go for AirBnB's as they hands-down the most affordable yet luxurious stay options in Bali. I had booked a private pool villa with Santi. To say the least, I was not disappointed at all

After some rest, you may kick off the day with a walk/cycle session around Campuhan Ridge. The ridge spans quite a few kilometers and offers for a serene experience.

Choose the first night to complete a sunrise volcano trek on Mt. Batur. The trek starts around 2 a.m and ends at the summit just before sunrise. Do not forget to look up though as you are covered with a blanket of stars.

Day 2

Spend the afternoon of Day2 in your rooms resting the trek-soared muscles. In the evening you can sit by a cafe in the Tegallalang Rice Terrace of Ubud, or even pamper yourself with good photo opportunities by many a swings in the rice terrace.

Day 3

The third day in Ubud was one stuffed with many waterfall and sunset chases. We started with a not-so-touristy fall called Kanto Lampo and I have admit, the fall made me go gaga. It was dreamy to say the least and I was teleport-ed to a fantasy land of my own.

You can visit the Tanah Lot temple next if time permits, to watch the sunset. However do take note that Bali is strict with its temple rules so one must ensure that they know their rules well.

Day 4

Keep the next day for Transit to visit another Island called the Gili Islands in Lombok. It's a group of three small islands- Gili Meno, Gili Air and Gili Trawangan. If you wish to relax, Gili Meno is the place for you while you can party hard in Gili Trawangan. For everything in between, choose Gili Air. I chose Gili Air for the best of both.

Day 5

The vibes at Gili were more relaxed and lazy. You can indulge in good sea food and some even more fabulous music. Use the day for water sports activities like Scuba Diving or Surfing lessons.

Gili Islands are the place to relax/party/just sit by the beach. If you are more of a nature lover and a photo-fanatic, you might do some star gazing as well.

Day 6

Take time to head to Kuta/Seminyak for a day to catch your flight back from the Bali airport. Do try and visit some off-beat places like The Green Bowl beach, if you have time. Or simple head to the Potato Beach club on this day to let your hair loose.
