Okay, to start off with all you need is 6hrs of your precious time to visit this place and back. I think its one of the best places near bangalore within that 60 70kms limit on an overcast rainy day. Now about the place itself SAVANDURGA HILLS- ITS THE LARGEST MONOLITH ROCK IN ASIA. Its ideal for a bike/car ride and the journey is as good as the place itself. Sarted from bangalore at around 3pm from Nagawara and we took the bangalore mysore road to get out of the city. Now remember there are many routes to reach this place and i would advice you to take the longest one and the route which takes you through the villages. So yeah be sure to take the route which shows small unmarked roads on google maps. Yeah its more time consuming but trust me its the most beautiful ones. Now once you reach near the place around 5 to 10kms before you will be greeted by lush green forest, trees hanging over the road and beautiful wet curvey roads to make your drive a fun one. You start seeing the mammoth rocks and hills few kms before reaching the place and as you close in on your destination you start realizing the scale of this rock. Its beautiful, covered with clouds and small streams of water dripping down from above. The rock is as big as it is beautiful. Now park you car and enjoy. Have a nariyal paani and start your climb. But be careful as its a rock and there is nothing to hold on to while climbing. And avoid the trek till the top during rains as the rock is pretty wet and slippery. Now just sit beneath the huge rock and soak in the fact that this is the largest monolith rock in asia.
