Hill stations are the perfect getaways for the riders. Those who love morning rides, that would be a plus for you as nature offers you a lot in the morning. I have been enjoying the rides to amazing hill stations around Bengaluru and always been madly in love with hill destinations. And if you happen to be residing in Bengaluru, there are plenty of options to plan for quick getaways with your families or friends.

Here are my best 5 experiences at stunning hill destinations around Bengaluru explored on my bike that might be helpful :

1. Horsley Hills - 144 kms

Horsley Hills is an idyllic hill station situated between the states of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. It is a perfect amalgamation of the charming, rustic quality of Andhra Pradesh and the luxurious setting of the hills. It is also fondly known as the Ooty of Andhra.

The weather of Horsley Hill is pleasant throughout the year and it can be visited any time of the season. The peak season is from February to May.

Besides offering picturesque landscapes and an impeccably tranquil environment. The highest point of the Horsley Hills offers a stunning view of the surrounding foliage. The lush green forests contrasts with the sapphire blue sky making it an enchanting sight.

2. Yelagiri Hills - 159 kms

I rode to this serene hill station which is situated in Tamil Nadu. Yelagiri is a perfect destination to spend some quality time with your loved ones. Yelagiri is surrounded by dense forests which are home to different species of flora and fauna.

With numerous lake, both man-made and natural, sunset points, parks and temples around. Yelagiri is one of the few marvels of nature that has remained unspoiled by the enclosure of the world outside.

This hill station is also a popular tourist spot for adventure activities like hiking, trekking, paragliding and mountain climbing. To promote these activities, the Tamil Nadu Government has started the Yelagiri adventure camp. This place remains less crowded throughout the year making it a perfect getaway near Bangalore. Also, Yelagiri is popular for the local honey which is known to be one of the purest kinds in the market.

3. Avalabetta Hill - 92 kms

Avalabetta is small hill station around 95 kms from Bengaluru via Chikkaballapur. It is popular among the youth, especially trekking enthusiasts. However, it is still one of the offbeat destinations near Bengaluru, so it offers a retreat from the city life as well as people.

There are lot of rumours about that place being very dangerous view point and lot of bad experiences. Now it is barricaded and banned from entering and taking pictures as it dangerous.

Though Avalabetta is picking up fame as a quick day trip from Bengaluru, many people are still unaware of it.

4. Savandurga Hill - 50 kms

I rode to Savandurga hill along with my friend and it was just 50 kilometres away from Bangalore. Savandurga is one of the largest monolith hills in Asia.

Savandurga hill is formed by two hills, Billigudda (white hill) and Karigudda (black hill). A trek to Billigudda is popular among tourists owing to its gentle slopes. The picturesque views from the top are a treat to the eyes and heart. This quaint hill station is a haven for trekkers, and adventure enthusiasts.

Savandi Veerabhadreshwara Swami and Narasimha Swami temple, located in the foothills, attracts thousands of tourists every year. Manchanabele Dam is a must-visit spot to enjoy several water sports nearby this hill.

5. Nandi Hill - 62 kms

I have been to Nandi hill quite a few times before and still stands out the perfect and most visited hill by many if you are in Bengaluru.

It's around 60 kilometres away from Bengaluru, Nandi Hill is one such tourist spot that has gradually been discovered by visitors over the years and has now become a well-known weekend getaway.

Featuring beautifully carved arches and majestic pillars with intricately painted walls and ceilings, Nandi Hill is scattered with shrines and monument and is surrounded by mesmerising views, making this place no less than a hidden paradise.

Situated at a height of 4851 feet above sea level, you can see a convoy of weekenders from Bangalore during early hours catching the glimpse of sunrise.

That's all for now. Be safe and be well until we meet again!!! Happy riding:)
